Kind of seems like Baam might have had the soul of the administrator within him the whole time and the main soul just reabsorbed Red.

I'm kinda bored with the constant power ups honestly. It's starting to fall into the typical "the main character is a flawless godlike figure" problem that so many Korean and Chinese works have. I know he has to grow eventually to face the top of the tower, but it's happening far too fast. He's outpacing the other characters on his team, and they are the most interesting part of the comic by an extreme margin.

While I can't deny that this might become a issue, I think the bigger problem might be that with all those power-ups Bam might outpace himself.
All this power could easily become to much for him.
Not to mention that those power-ups come with complications.
The Thorn-fragment* might be little more than a fancy artefact and the souls that belonged to Hoaquin- even if they have their own agenda** -seem to be content with helping him***, but they still attract the attention of vastly more powerful parties.
And the Red Thryssa and whatever power that blue guy represents definitely have their own plans, although the latter mostly seems to try to temp Bam and it remains to be seen if the Administrator's child can influence him in a similar way to Joe.

*I'm pretty sure that Bam has/had trouble using it properly.
**I would bet they have one. Beyond beating White that is.
***Considering how much Bam seems to hesitates to actually use them I wouldn't be surprised if she releases them if he gets a chance.

That's all true, but it's just very common for this type of media to not address any of those kinds of drawbacks. At least not more than mentioning they exist and never having them actually hurt the main character in any way.

So far ToG has been very good most of the time though, so maybe they won't fall into this trap.

    Well, that's less than ideal.
Just as the Floor of Death got interesting they all die.
Oh, and I guess Hoaquin growing angelwings isn't particulary good too.

Is there any forum discussing the Kubera comic out there? Couldn't find anything here or through google.

Not that I know of. It comes up here from time to time in other threads.

You could always make a thread. There's at least a few of us who read it.

I mean Kubera is one of those comics that generally there really isn't much to discuss on a comic-by-comic basis. You've got very long plot arcs but not that much happening in individual comics that really merits discussion, the last thread died because nobody was posting for a while.

Well, that looks like it could get interesting.
A leader of one of the ten families.
And it seems he has a agenda.

I just hope Bam and co get away from it.
"A bug is a bug" sounds decidedly unpleasant. Even if the unpleasantness seems to be directed towards White.
And I'm not sure he will see our heroes the same way

I mean we've already seen Po Bidau Gustang at the workshop battle, so its not that surprising.

I'm not sure we had enough information to really appreciate the significance of who it was the last time he appeared.

Oh well, so much for White's souls.

I really don't like Gustang. As if there needed to be more reasons to wish Jahad and the ten families the worst.
And now Bam has drawn this guys attention. That bodes ill for our heroes.

But most importantly, he is back. Our glorious leader. the greatest warrior of all. Devourer of bananas.
    Mr. Crocodile!
And it seems he added a new turtle to his herd.

He and the sneaky turtle are pretty much the only characters I'm interested in anymore. Everyone else either fell out the story or are just generic shonen characters.

We desperately need a scene change, and to get back to the world building and character interactions instead of Dragonball fights.

    Most recent chapter

Well, I think we're ready to depart the Floor of Death, at least. But we're heading back to the Hell Train and, is that Greed Island? I feel like calling this next part Greed Island (ref HxH).

    Spoiler
    Show
And does Rak being in the Hell Train's memory bank mean this is the memory of Rak (and he died) or is this just his luck?

Neither option really makes sense. It couldn't be Rak's "memory" because he's never completed the train to make one. But it can't really be him being on that floor either since he never made it there. I honestly have no idea.

Other chapters have made it sound like the train keeps the soul of everyone that's ever died on it. And it's not really a floor itself. It's just as big as a floor. It's something special on the train. Young Jahad seems surprised or confused about Rak too, though I can't tell if that's because he arrived strangely or because he is strange. Basically, I'm wondering if we'll see that resurrection [from the Hell Train] is impossible, unless it's Rak.
    . . . .
Actually, I admit it'd be trite to kill Rak off-screen and resurrect him the very next time he's shown, and there's no way him meeting everyone again is the way they find out that he's dead. Maybe the secret floor also has something to do with how Karaka pulls off his survival and regeneration. It seemed like Karaka was hiding in a secret compartment on the train himself. That would mean Rak got pulled in by whatever Karaka used to return to his hiding spot. Just his luck, and also explains why there was no sign of him. Rak can't die without leaving a corpse. Well, Rak can't die, but especially not without leaving a corpse.

Rachel has finally been gifted with the power she clearly deserves, and she's apparently someone's pawn. Does this make her an anima?

Ironically enough, Endorsi and Rachel are jealous of each other for what the other has while not themselves valuing the thing they have that the other wants.

Rachel's line "We've both had somebody's blood on our hands to climb the tower,
but I'm a nasty bitch and you're a beautiful, cool-headed princess," has a major thing wrong.
No one would call Endorsi cool-headed.

It also interests me that Khun and Baam humor her with "fair" fights while Endorsi is showing her how the Tower isn't fair.

Endorsi versus Rachel. This should be interesting. Especially since Rachel got a pet now.
A fitting power-up for a manipulator. Not direct power boost but something she can control.
Even the invisibly fits her (appearant) harmlessness.
Still, I hope this doesn't escalate too much.
Would be a shame to loose either character at this point. Endorsi moreso.
I also hope that Rachel doesn't get the Thorn-fragment Another "stealthy" upgrade like that assassin/bodyguard manta ray-shark-monster would be more appropiate I think.

That's some heavy blackmail material though. It'd be terrible if something like that got out on the lighthouse network.

Don't you mean the unrecycled tin can? I'm wondering if Wangnan thinks it's his ring at first, since Rachel took it. That definitely promises to be a major conversation though it might be cut short since Baam is almost there anyway.

And everyone's still mean to Boro. The way into the room of the past looks a lot like the crossing back at the start of the hell train arc, too. The one with the guardian.
