Anyone watching the Magicians?

Just watched the bank-robbery episode.

To sum it up- just when you thought the plot couldn't get any more cliched, it doubles down on the stupid.

i actually like the show, but that might just be me being a little too lenient on shows. i haven't read the books, i just like magic.

The last two episodes have picked up a bit. But I think that is because the show works well when you split the party- Quentin and Julia work, because of their expained history as best of friends. Penny and Kady have chemistry and enough strength to stand up to each other. Eliot and Margo work as two very drunk peas in a pod.

But any episode where they are mixed up or grouped together makes you just sit and wonder- why?

Especially when they declare their friendship. Can't see why they'd voluntarily be in the same room with each other most of the time but then, "Best Buddies!".
