Accalon swiftly strides towards the cleared corridor. Once again readying a blast should anything emerge.

    Map Update

A wolf jumps out at you! It was waiting! (1d20+3)[23]. If it hits: (1d6+1)[6] for damage, and (1d20+1)[8] vs a strength or dex check, whichever is higher. If you fail, you are tripped.

    You fire your Eldritch blast.

From your first check, you can tell it is known as 'Baleful Utterance'.

Taken by surprise and more than a little nervous about the prospect of a real fight Tristam is slow to react, hesitant to make a mistake that might mean death for him and his comrades.

Between the Blasts and the slashes, the wolf falls. Looking into its eyes, you see the light fade as a very primal fear is the last thing you see through its eyes.

You each gain 75xp from the wolf.

Grinning ear to ear after the fight, Accalon Flips the wolf over and begins triggering any pits in this room,

Ah Derrick, that last strike of yours was a bloody beauty, I thought you were going to break it clean in half.

I stride over to the wolf corpse and inspect it, seeing how much of it can be salvaged, and skinning it if possible.
    Survival check (d20-1)[6]

    Thanks. Surprised myself, really.

Once combat appears to be over Tristam makes his way to the drow to tend to his wounds.

He casts cure minor wounds on Nal. He asks the party if they want to pull back and fortify the first room so the group can rest there for the night and he can heal the Drow the rest of the way, or if they want to press on.

Are the doors in a poor enough state that we could look through one?

I'm ready to stop if all of you want to, I've learnt how important healing is. Though if anyone wants to push on one more room I'm up for that as well

You ruin the pelt. It is more or less worthless.

The Drow goes to 1 HP.

The Doors appear to have been well built, and while they are a bit word down from age, they stand tall and firm, with narry a peephole to be seen. (Also, thats not OOC, just ask if your character can see through it.)

Nal is at 1 HP, and is no longer disabled.

"200 gold is a lot of money, but we can't spend it if we're dead.

If our expert 'locksmith' says he needs to rest then we should rest. A pitfall or poisoned arrow will kill you just as dead as a wild beast, and while you gents made short work of that wolf, after that first room I would feel a lot more comfortable with our 'spotter' on point, especially if there is something our employer isn't telling us.

Jake, Derrick, if you two are willing to take turns standing watch while I pray, I'll heal up the drow and we can get this show on the road."

((Fortify the first room, maybe have our characters eat and get some sleep, resting 8 hours, and then back at it?))

First, you spy a small hole, just big enough for the wolf to fit through near the top of the room. Second, you find a secret door poorly hidden in the upper right hand corner of the room.

"It'll still be there in the morning. Let's get some rest first."

Then he heads back to the first room and casts detect secret doors, scanning the room he plans on sleeping in for hidden surprises.
