    I move towards Tess instinctively, calling out "Watch out!".

    His goblin speak was a bit rusty, but that sounded a lot like a formal complete sentence with proper grammar to boot, not the usual gutterspeak he expected from goblinkind... What was going on here? "dral daal alkhu khuul dhuul daan darluuc..." from them frog box trick they away? That doesn't make any sense... unless it was alkhuul not alkhu khuul. In context wagon made much more sense than frog box... and he probably had his forms of 'they' mixed up as well, but between daal, daan, and daak who could blame him? from their wagon trick them away maybe? He suddenly wished he had listened closer to his fathers lessons on goblin syntax and grammar as a child, and spent less time 'practicing' his elven obscenities. Too late now.

    Garrett's demeanor shifts from happy-go-lucky, to grim.
    Time to put his money where his mouth is, as it were.
    These goblinoids weren't going to get their hands on the wagons, or heavens forbid, frog boxes, if he had anything to say about it.

    Garret crouches low, doing his best to silently crank the lever on his repeating crossbow, activating the mechanism that draws back the bows string and slides a new bolt into place. He takes aim at the figure that shouted the orders, silently mouthing a prayer for luck to Shantu, the god of his people, before gently squeezing the trigger.

    Another round of arrows come flying out of the woods towards the camp, striking the wagons, the ground, and one of the guards.

    Kyras:

    You're spell goes off well.

    Ukiah:

    You find yourself along a line goblins, each dressed in leather armor and all but one wielding a bow. The first one you come to, you swing your fist out expecting to connect with something closer to your size.

    Garret:

    You manage to conceal yourself within the confines of wagon 1. however, the draw of the crossbow is easier than you expected, and because of this you over compensate and your shot goes wide of your mark.

    Tess:

    You manage to draw your sword and manage to move closer to Kyras.

    You all see the monk move up into the line of where the arrows came from.

    ((I do not reroll initiative every round so just keep going in this order.))

    Tyg3rW01f works 2nd shift and is unlikely to be able to post before 2245hrs for 5/27/17... Brother Ukiah is a kick-in-the-door type with a 1d6+2 (20/x2) fist attack and 1d20 (20/x2) Flurry of Blows. He knows Common, Dwarven, and THINKS he knows Orc, but his phrases, which are meant to be curses, are all gibberish, ala Donovan Deegan from DOMINIC Deegan Oracle For Hire.

    In other words, to keep this thread moving quickly, I'll give notice when I'm to be at work, so someone (with my permission and Sarlon's oversight) can take over whilst Tyg3rW01f is afk.

    The goblin(6) lets loose an arrow at kyras. (1d20+2)[14] damage: (1d4)[1], after the attack, it drops its bow and moves towards you and Tess, drawing a long sword. It stops 20 feet away from you in the middle of the path.

    Kyras:

    You see the arrow coming at you as you draw the wand, and you manage to get the spell off, you actually hit the one that is coming towards you in reflex.

    Ukiah:

    You swing at the goblins and miss.

    another goblin (4) lets fly another arrow, this time aiming at a guard. (1d20+2)[15] damage: (1d4)[4]. He too drops his bow and moves towards the camp, stopping almost as far away from the camp as the first goblin.

    Garret:

    now that you have a better grasp of the kick of the bow you line up your next shot perfectly and let fly another bolt, this one connecting with a wet and meaty thunk sound. (roll to confirm your crit and damage)

    Goblin (1), shouts more commands moving into fight ukiah with confidence. He slashes at Ukiah (1d20+4)[24] Damage [roll]1d6+2[/roll]

    Two shoot another arrow each into the camp aiming for the guards. (1d20+2)[17] damage: (1d4)[3]
    (1d20+2)[14] damage: (1d4)[2]. They too drop their bows and move towards the path. 4 goblins now stand about 20 feet away from the camp almost equally spaced all wielding long swords, and wearing leather armor.
    The last goblin drops his bow and stands beside the one shouting commands and draws a sword.

    That does not sound good at all.

    Garrett reloads his crossbow, taking aim at the nearest goblin approaching him who is not currently engaged with anyone in melee combat ((I don't have precise shot yet)), hoping to drop one of his soon to be attackers before they can close into melee range with him, then he tries to stealthfully reposition himself, moving to hide beneath a different wagon.

    ((Sorry guys I was sick as a dog last night, left work early, and crashed into bed till just now))


    Goblin (6), shouts in very broken common "Come at me coward!!" then runs back towards the woods.

    Kyras:

    you run up on the other goblin, swinging your blade. you feel something tingly up your sword arm as you brace yourself to swing, and as it connects with the other goblin, you feel a strength not felt before and the goblin slumps to the ground, his own sword falling limply from its hand.

    Ukiah

    Your fist connects firmly with the first goblin, knocking him out cold while the other turns to run away as well.

    Garret:

    Your first crossbow bolt slammed into the first goblin turning it into a greasy splotch on the ground, and you SWEAR up and down that the crossbow chuckled when it did.

    Writing it off to combat stress, you turn your bow on the second one and fire again, this one also slumping to the ground bleeding profusely.

    Goblin (1), swings sword again at Ukiah, (1d20+4)[19] damage [roll]1d6+2[/roll]

    Grinning down at her sword, she backs up, pushing Kyras back as well, with #6 running back toward the woods, she suspects a trap. Her intention is to find cover for the two of them (herself and Kyras), at the nearest wagon and wait for them to get close enough to attack again. All the while, she's wondering about this new sensation from the sword.

    As Garrett reloads he lines up the fleeing goblin in his sights, doing his best to compensate for his targets movement and sporadic cover.
    He would have to time it just right, aiming for where his target would be... He gently squeezes the trigger, relying on luck as much as training and muscle memory to carry him through. Unsure of his success, he scrambles to the top of the wagon, and cupping his hands to his mouth so his tiny voice will carry father Garrett shouts to his comrades:
    "It's a trap! STAY WITH THE WAGONS!"

    Goblin (6), barely makes it a dozen steps before both a magic missle and a crossbow bolt smash him to the ground where it twitches for a few seconds and then lays still.

    Kryas:

    Goblin (1) grabs ukiah by the collar of the shirt holding the long sword threateningly. "Give me the weapons, and this one shall be spared!" This is said in the most articulate common you have ever heard from a goblin's lips before.

    Tess:

    From atop the wagon Garrett makes a show of reloading his crossbow (the last bolt before he has to swap out to a new cartridge) before leveling it at Goblin One's head and shouting to him in the goblin language;

    "A hostage exchange? You must be joking. We get paid whether he lives or dies, maybe even get a bonus for each one of you we kill. But if this shipment fails to go through, we get nothing. Here's my counter offer; turn around and march back to where you came from, and I won't put a bolt through your eye on the off chance somebody is willing to pay me extra for it. Take a good look at how many of your dead friends have crossbow bolts in them before you decide. I'll wait."

Also... any chance of a circumstance bonus for telling a believable lie, or possible circumstance or aide another bonuses to my intimidate check from the rest of the heavily armed party backing me up along with all the caravan guards who now vastly outnumber him?))

    Pausing in her movement, she does an unusual shrug. In reality, she's adjusting the bindings around her chest, but most would assume it's a shrug of indifference. She looks about to see that there is only one (?) Goblin left, the one holding Ukiah. She begins to slowly stalk toward him (half movement rate), a fierce snarl on her face.
