PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
http://www.prequeladventure.com/
ITT: We talk about things that will happen before we get another update on Katia Managan's Marvelous Misadventures. I'll start: We get Half-Life 3 Footage on E3.
Anybody else is a masochist who keeps checking every week hoping to see something other than Kazerad postponing the update since 2015?OotS Avatar by Linklele.
Spoiler: When early morn walks forth in sober grey. - William BlakeOft when the summer sleeps among the trees,
Whispering faint murmurs to the scanty breeze,
I walk the village round; if at her side
A youth doth walk in stolen joy and pride,
I curse my stars in bitter grief and woe,
That made my love so high and me so low.
O should she e'er prove false, his limbs I'd tear
And throw all pity on the burning air;
I'd curse bright fortune for my mixed lot,
And then I'd die in peace, and be forgot.

Update = Very No
Every week? Try every day. Kaz streams drawing in bars in the evenings sometimes, and it's fun to drop in for those. I've dropped comics for shorter hiatuses, but this one keeps me coming back.
I was planning on making a new thread once the update dropped, and when I saw this thread, I thought it finally had. I'm a little upset about it."The error is to be human"

I've long since stopped checking. I'm pretty sure a thread much like this one will pop up if he finally updates. And yeah, I too thought this thread meant the update had come.
Many thanks to Assassin 89 for this avatar!

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
Well, there IS a new side story up, featuring Aggy (You know, the Ancestral Guardian ghost who taught Katia how to use the Grab key?). It's one of those ones that slowly reveals itself over a few days, sort of the way the Porcupine Dodger story did, except tied to time instead of fundraising.
So far it's pretty funny. It seems very much that Aggy is some kind of doom magnet, which... bodes ill for how the main comic will turn out.
...Still waiting for the promised update on the main comic.

Glad to hear that updates will return since I thought it was abandoned prior to hearing that.

I'll be
honesttruthful and admit I saw this thread updated and got all excited for a moment. Then I got excited thinking at least the update message had changed since the last time I checked. Then I was disappointed.

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
Well, I'm just trying to read this comic's history. Kinda large.
I'm up to http://www.prequeladventure.com/2011/04/343/ -- she's just found out that she's a mage of a different type, and just needed a charge in order to use magic.
Now it's just a cat-agory of controlling her puns in thought. Not "fire at". I never used the word "at"

Am I the only one that posts comments on their archive binging as they catch up to the present?
So here Katia is asking about fate. And I love this answer:
Some legends do speak of heroes whose fates were unwritten. Their destinies were said to be ambiguous even to the gods, who could only respond to the heroes’ actions – or attempt to guide them with no guarantee of success. Often, these mortals would grow unimaginably powerful, and their choices would affect the lives of millions. It was said to be a blessing and a curse: to hold your own fate, but to be the unknowable black wall that clouded the future from the divines…
…But I’m guessing you don’t have to worry about anything like that! Not "fire at". I never used the word "at"

But if I did not post, this would pass the 45 day mark and be a dead thread.
I just got up to her tossing fireballs. I love how the whole "start fires out of control" turns into "Toss fires from her paw", complete with a cooked crab breakfast.

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
Question: What's the deal with "Sigrid"? Is this a reference to something in the actual game?

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
When wandering around the town in http://www.prequeladventure.com/this...Excelsior.html , I cannot find the mage guild. With all the build up about it, can someone tell me where the mage guild is?
EDIT: Never mind: It's that building that's closed until nightfall.

Sigrid is a character in Oblivion. She does nothing of note in the game as far as I know.

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
She does nothing of note, except die by my sword! Serves her right.
Playing Oblivion and reading Prequel enhance each other's enjoyment significantly. I loved visiting quill weave's house, and being a witchhunter in Oblivion. There are also a bunch of game mechanic jokes I missed before playing the game, from noticing Katia using the persuasion mini-game (admire joke coerce boast) on shopkeepers to the way telekinesis or changing clothes works.
I heartily recommend reading prequel together with playing oblivion."The error is to be human"

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
I liked reading it until Sigrid mind controlled Katia and that's when I thought the comic was trying to be clever for its own good.
I felt the "Player Imput" was completely arbitrary and even if it didn't exist events just happened inorganically.
What happened later made even less sense. Why would priest guy think that Sigrid having gold stolen would teach her responsibility instead of installing better security?
Then I stopped reading altogether.

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
Thanks to this thread for making me check it out. I believe I'm not very far in but I am greatly enjoying the strip. It's been pretty heart breaking so far but thinks are starting to get brighter (Katia just got to Kvatch).
Poor Dmitri though. :(
I'm already dreading reaching the end and hiatus hell.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
It's so pretty!
Also, why does Katia use the "Home Alone" method of dealing with thumbtacks on the floor? You can just sweep them away, you don't need to tank the damage!"The error is to be human"

SpoilerYou should have taken the offer of becoming his noble da, opportunity for trouble on a far larger scale! Anyway you could have tried being a good father figure, since obviously he wants a noble dad.Last edited by Ibrinar; 2017-09-24 at 04:52 PM.

Re: PREQUEL - Or Making a Cat Cry: The Adventure -
SpoilerUh guys don't you remember?
Katia has a crippling phobia of nobility and/or royalty.
to the point where she is afraid of Martin even when she doesn't know he is a noble.
I'm pretty sure throwing herself out the window was probably specifically because she didn't want to become one. why would she want to become what she has a crippling phobia of and would probably make her more likely see her phobia around her?
