[Kish]

Tilting his head to look up, Tarak catches a glimpse of motion through the arrow slit, but nothing emerges from it, yet.

Tarak

The hobgoblin slowly moves back to the others, "There's movement up there in them embrasures, t'would be my guess they're suppose to be coverin' these doors."

Reaching back, he pulls out a length of silk rope and hands one end to Suga, "I'm going to go in right through the middle as quiet as possible and then when I feel like I'm about twenty feet from the door I'm going to conjure up some fog to try to cover us while we figure out the doors."

Looking over at the elf, "Feagon, you cover me as best you can, and if I get the spell off, you can follow along behind Suga."

Moving back down the path a short distance he pats Kong on the head a couple of times, "You stay right here big guy." Tarak reaches in his pouch and pulls out a carrot, "Here, you can chew on this for a few minutes, until we come back and get you."

Looping his end of the rope around his waist, he nods at his companions, crouches low and slowly approaches the doors.....

Mists obscure the arrow slits. As Tarak approaches the doors, he sees that they're slightly ajar.

Tarak moves forward to the doors, then waits for the others to catch up before spooling the rope and packing it away.

Placing his hand on the slightly ajar door, "Are you two ready?"

Then he'll swing the door open and step inside.

Suga nods then follows Tarak through, expecting an attack.

Feagon

The cleric levels his bow at the northern arrow slit, keeping careful watch for any sort of movement while Tarak creeps toward the doors. As he mists form around the hobgoblin, Feagon lowers his bows and grabs Kong's lead. With a hand on Suga's shoulder he makes his way through the fog and to his companion's side. Like the great orc warrior, he too suspects an ambush so releases the mule's lead and notches a bow as Tarak opens the door.

Tough call, razorback gave me permission, but implied that he would be back before now. I'm really not trying to step on anyone's toes here.

The great door opens into a large hall. You are standing on a narrow ledge overlooking a deep, dark crevasse that cuts the room in two, completely obstructing passage to the opposite side. A dangerous looking rope bridge, frayed and thin, spans the gap. Water gurgles and rushes somewhere far below.

With your low-light vision, you can just barely make out the opposite platform on the other side of the chasm.

With your darkvision, you can see the opposite platform on the other side of the room. Standing before another set of double doors, two dwarves in scale mail train longbows on you.

Map. The light green strip is where the rope bridge is. Suga and Tarak can act before either dwarf will. Crossing the bridge requires an Acrobatics check, DC 8; if you succeed you can move up to your speed (30 feet for an unburdened orc, hobgoblin, or elf) as a full-round action, or half that as a move action.

"Two more dwarves with bows. Me first." Suga dashes across the bridge giving fair warning to the dwarves. He stops just outside of melee range.

"Hold your fire, or you'll both die quickly and uselessly."

As the orc dashes past him, Tarak takes a step to his left, unslings his longbow and does a quick visual sweep of the surrounding narrow ledge upon which they find themselves.

"Shut up, orc!" one of the dwarves says, loading the word "orc" with as much contempt and loathing as one syllable could hold. She drops her bow and circles around to swing her axe at Suga.

Nothing new is apparent to Tarak. The door behind the dwarves is slightly ajar.

Hearing the cries and seeing Suga move into the darkness, spurs the cleric into action. Moving to the edge of the rift near the south wall, he tries to pick out a target and fires his bow.

Feagon fires an arrow at one of the indistinct shapes he sees and is rewarded with a pained grunt. The shot dwarf circles around and tries to cut Suga down. Suga swings his axe in an arc, but fails to hit either dwarf.

"Always got to prove their point, these dwarves." he mutters so himself as he gets a feel for the movement and lets an arrow loose.

Notching another arrow, the hobgoblin squints and sticks his tongue out of the side of his mouth, concentrating furiously and trying to get the hang of this ranged combat thing.

Suga knocks away the dwarf's axe with his own then returns the strike. He steps out of the flanking and gives them one last chance. "I'm not here to wipe out dwarves, but if you don't back off then your whole clan will face being wiped out. Are you that stupid?"

The hobgoblin slings his longbow over his shoulder, and walks over to Feagon, "We'll have to talk Suga into holding back when we next think we'll encounter resistance. His very presence seems to be sparking these fights....although, to tell the truth, I don't know that these dwarves will be interested in talking to us now that we've killed their kin."

Moving toward the door, he picks up Kong's lead and walks the donkey inside the cavern. "There's no feasible way that I can see to get you across that bridge boy." He reaches out and scratches Kong under the chin and pats him on the head a few times, before fishing an apple out of his pack and giving it to Kong.

Leading the animal into the corner Tarak looks around for something to tie his lead to, before moving back to close and secure the doors.
