Default Group World Creation: Short and Sweet

How about another group world building effort?
Here's the idea I have. People post only short facts about the world. Every post should contain three facts, each preferably short, one or two sentences.

    1. One global fact about the world. Something that has a planet-wide effect.
E.g. In this world, the night is much longer than the day, year round.
E.g. In this world, fire-magic attracts demons.
E.g. In this world, the sky is green, not blue.
E.g. Goblins don't exist in this world.

    2. One fact that establishes or expands upon a group, organisation, location, nation or similar.
E.g. The city of Theridia, famous for its art academy and musicians, lies on the Red Gulf.
E.g. A group of elven criminals caling themselves Kelviri controls much of the drug trade in the eastern nations.
E.g. Most of the northern nations worship Shir, god of fire, warmth and family.

    3. One fact about how one group thinks of another. This may be entirely conjecture or rumour.
E.g. The southlanders tell tales of how the Shir-worshippers burn babies on the summer solstice.
E.g. The citizens of Theridia have a burning hatred for the Knights of the Order of the Eagle, offering a reward for each helmet showing the eagle crest brought to their council.
E.g. Duke Melchet of Sar refuses to fight the Kelviri in his lands, rumours say their leader saved the life of his sick wife years ago.

Obviously, those are just some quick and rather generic examples. Don't follow those.

Let me post a generic empty continental map to start us off:

Normal rules apply: you may expand on other people's writing, but don't outright contradict it. Except in the case of mythology.
    So. Who wants to start?

1.) On this planet, There are a set number of souls, so booming population growth leads to lower quality sentient beings, as souls have to split up into smaller bits to animate them.

2.) There is country run by a humanoid who has never died, and therefor, has the maximum amount of soul quality compared to the rest of his ilk.

3.)kobolds were created by dragons overbreeding. Goblins and orcs from hogoblins. Humans and dwarves from elves. Elves from fey. fey from the original beings.

    1. This world has three moons, one of which is a sentient, malevolent entity; it is always deep in slumber, and its dreams created the first beholders.

    2. The Hobgoblins worship Lissa'aere, a demon lady of poison gas. Their emperor, Lord Hython, is the most loyal and devoted to her, and in turn has been "blessed" with great fiendish power by the demon lady.

    3. The cult of the demon lord Jubilex are close allies with the merfolk kingdom.

    1) Magic has a chance of infecting the unprepared with a mysterious disease.

    2) The Hierophants are a group of elite mages who govern the Diell Dominion, a large empire on the western side of the continent.

    3) The citizens of southern plateau fear and distrust outsiders of any sort, and fiercely treasure their independence.

    1. The living moon is the farthest from the planet and the darkest. The second moon is pure white and called The Sentinel, or the Watcher, or an equivalent in various languages.

    2. The Merfolk kingdom lies in a great, shallow inland sea only connected to the ocean by a small inlet.

    3. Since Kobolds are seen as degenerate dragons, True Dragons mercilessly hunt them, to free up their souls for the creation of more True Dragons and save their species from extinction.

    1) The third moon is most known for its orange hue.

    2) Thervada is a wealthy mercantile city state between the Merfolk kingdom and the Diell Dominion.

    3) The few remaining fey are extremely condescending toward what the perceive as lower races, viewing them more s livestock from which to harvest souls.

    1. Fire and light can't be summoned with magic. Only mundane fire and light exist.
    2. Distrusts and racism between nations have made "The common language" a secret traveller's dialect.
    3. Dwarves and humans don't want to end like the kobolds, and instead, hunt and kill elves so their souls can be split into more humans and dwarves.

    1. It is rumoured all souls, in the beginning, were part of a dead god.
    2. Off the continent's craggy north-eastern coast lies the Abyss, an unfathomably deep hole in the ocean floor said to have been made by the impact of said god's corpse falling from heaven.
    3. Thervada owns much of its fame as an ideal market place to its policy of neutrality: none of the races may hunt others for their souls, here.

1:Long lasting rituals can be done by draining landscape power.
2:A dwarf mage group named the shadow of Richard is progressively using more and more surface for making rituals weakening creatures usually stronger than dwarves.
3:Richard was a dwarf who died killed by a stronger creature and so became a martyr of the dwarves.

    1. The mysterious sickness that can infect unprepared magic users is rumored to originate from the archdevil Baalzebul.

    2. The drow worship Zanassu, a demon lord of spiders and arachnids, who's aspect has possessed their queen so he may personally lead them without leaving the Abyss.

    3. The Aboleths were created by the Cult of Jubilex with the help of the Merfolk, but went rogue.

    1. The world's year is 667 days long, but there is a large gas giant closer to the sun in a 1:2 resonance with the planet. The gas giant causes a solar eclipse twice a year when it laps the planet in its orbit. These eclipses form the basis of more calendars than the full year does.

    2. Drow are a race of albino dwarves who primarily live in thickly forested areas, ranging from cool rainforests to tropical jungles. They mark the boundaries of their territories with large totems carved from large trees or stone columns and decorated with various arachnid figures.

    3. Most aboleths despise the cult of Jubilex that created them and secretly provide aid to anyone that they think can damage the cult.

    1. The Magi's curse (the disease that infects unprepared magic users) deforms the body and in the best of cases, fundamentally changes the nature of the soul.

2.In the western penisula the monster plagued realm of Quezo contain the only ports to the southern continent.

    3. The dwarfs routinely trap the souls of their ancestors within crystals and other objects.

    1. Resurrection magic has never worked properly and only creates undead.

    2. The Hierophants have secret researchs on resurrection magic

    3. The Hierophants, the fey, and the dragons despise the dwarven tradition of soul storing as they believe kills the world. (As in, storing souls remove them from the soul pool every new life drawns from.)

I ask a clarification: what do kills the world means?
Do they believe it kills the world or is there proof of it(like for example the world is a living creature and it says it is being killed)

Added "They believe" and an explanation. Is is good now? Should I word it differently?

I thing something like the world being a living creature would need to be stated on a number 1 fact. A number 3 fact is only for interactions between things.

    1. Anyone can become Lord of the Underworld by simply slaying the current Lord of Hell and then cannibalizing their soul. This has happened only twice in recorded history: when the fey lord Mephistopheles assassinated an unnamed first Lord of Hell and when Baalzebul became the current ruler by cursing Mephistopheles to a wasting sickness.

    2. The Mirror King is an ancient Archmage of unknown race and appearance who lives on the second moon, the Watcher.

    3. Due to the pressure from Humans, Dwarves and Drow who hunt them for their soul, many elves have sworn themselves to underworld powers.

    1. Due to the nature of souls, multiple births are very rare. Only humans and animals have them with any regularity.

    2. Human twins are known as "halflings". They are always identical, and cannot breed.

    3. Halflings are treated poorly by all other humanoid races, who see them as barely more than beasts in regards to soul quality.

    (Hope I'm doing this right.)

    1. All fiends (devils, demons, yugoloths, etc.) are allies (for the most part), and all call the Underworld their home. The Underworld, as such, is a mesh of multiple environs, ranging from the ocean of ooze ruled by the demon lord Jubilex, to the choking realm of the demon lady Lissa'aere, to the spider filled caverns of the demon lord Zanassu, and to the insect covered fortress from which the archdevil Baazelbul rules over all.

    2. The Lycanthropes are affected by what kind of moon is full in the sky; the first moon brings no extraneous effects, the second moon allows them to retain their mind during their transformation (allowing for such things like good werewolves), and the third moon causes horrible mutations in them, most commonly covering their body in eyes, and drives them to madness for the duration of that night.

    3. The Otyughs were also created by the union of Merfolk and Jubilex's cult, though unlike the Aboleths did not turn rogue. Both land and aquatic variations exist, and the most powerful of the aquatic ones serves the Merfolk Empress as a pet and guardian.

    1. The abilities a magic user can master depends on both the quality of their soul and their personality.

    2. On the Northern coast there is a place sacred to the kobolds and dragons known as The Graveyard of Dragons.

    3. Kobolds occasionally build warrens under human cities.

    1) Since Fire and light cannot be magically created, those with the magical ability to manipulate either are in high demand. These firebinders and lightbenders of any class are encouraged *not* towards heroics, but rather paid to stay in the public works space.

    2) While halflings are despised due to being, effectively, half-souls, they also have certain supernatural abilities towards their twins. Knowing the direction their twin is in, being able to quickly learn from, read, and communicate with the twin, et cetera.

    3) There's a rumor spreading that the Magi's curse is also tied to the third, orange moon, although if you ask 3 people you'll get 5 different connections ideas.

1.) The drow sprang from one dwarven clan. And because of their rabbitlike reproduction, are constantly hunted, so they travel in huge caravans with giant vermin as beasts of burden.

2.) One caravan of drow have been summoning elemental spirits to reproduce with thinking that they are cheating the soul quality issue: thus creating a race of elemental gnomes that comprise all of the elementalbenders and lightbenders.

3.) A wildrunner elf near the behemoth grasslands has been sucking out the souls of travelers to become incrementally more fey.

1.When a group of people forge strong bonds in fighting their group get supplementary powers due to the link between their souls.
2.Halflings create frequently groups of the previously indicated type due to the strange link between halflings and sometimes up to four pairs of halflings make one big group or two connected groups.
3.Most people dislike halflings forming groups for they become extremely efficient in battle when doing so.
The shadow of Richard appreciate halflings groups and try to recruit them for they study their powers and are using this kind of power for the landscape draining rituals.

    1. There are areas throughout the world where the boundaries between the material plane and the underworld are thinned, allowing fiendish energy to seep through. The wildlife around these is warped and twisted, and unborn creatures brought near are often corrupted, transforming at birth into fiendish creatures, such as Bullywugs into Banderhobbs and Orcs into Tanarukk.

    2. The Girallons of Quezo worship Ilsidahur, demon lord of Barlguras. They are fond of raiding settlements and capturing humanoids to put in their arenas, where they pit them against one another in fights to the death, fiendish magic being used to induce such rage and blood lust within the fighters that all they care about is killing each other.

    3. The reason for the alliance of the merfolk and the cult of Jubilex is much in part because the merfolk empress is madly in love with, and seeks to become the consort of, Jubilex.

    1. Astronomical phenomena such as eclipses have subtle effects on magic and it's users.

    2. The Diell Dominion have built a great wall on the isthmus between the eastern and western portions of the continent.

    3. Thervada competes with other city states within the gulf for lucrative trade with the merfolk.

    2. The Merlfolk's most demanded articles are pearls, corals, and mithril. Nobody knows where they get mitrhil from.

    3. Some think the 3 moons are in fact a split divine soul.

    1. There exists a living planet some ways further from the sun than the world known as Syth'gon ("Mother World", in the Illithian tongue), the homeworld of the Illithids.

    2. The majority of the hyena men known as Gnolls of the world worship Baphomet, demon lord of bulls, labyrinths and beasts, while the majority of the half man, half bulls known as Minotaurs worship Yeenoghu, demon lord of hyenas and savagery. Why this is is unknown, though many theories exist.

    3. Merchants trading with the Merfolk must be wary when doing so, for those who displease them often "disappear", being sacrificed to Jubilex. The high value and rarity of their exports is one of the only things that keep the merchants coming.

What I meant by mythology was more things like "It is said the god Ecret created the world from an egg" and a later poster saying "It is written the goddess Letopa created the world from the bones of her enemies".

Honestly, this doesn't sound like a huge conflict, we can probably leave it? The gods created fire, light and life, and no one else can?
