    1. Like other races, Merfolk degenerate when they overbreed. From them come continually less humanoid aquatic forms, like Kuo-toa, troglodytes and bullywugs.

    2. The merfolk kingdom operates a reckless inquisition, where such children are found and ritually sacrificed to Juiblex before their first birthday.

    3. Among elves, it is a ritual of passage to assault a dwarven soul storage facility and reclaim enough souls to make a new elf. Only an elf who has done this can be considered an adult with full legal rights.

    2. Thousands of years ago the Fey built monumental cities all across the world, some in locations as varied as the ocean surface, the sky above the central mountains, and great desert. Today these cities are in ruins, inhabited mostly by monsters.

    3.Communities of humans, dwarves, and elves occasionally treat fey cities as objects of worship.

    1. While Baazelbul is the ruler of the Underworld, it is said in whispers that a vastly more powerful entity of great evil named Asmodeus is the true master of the Underworld.

    2. Cabiri, demon lord of observation, has gifted a number of his most devout female followers great powers of divination, allowing them to see into the future. These oracles offer to bestow knowledge of the future upon any who seek it; however, one can never know if what they tell is true, or if it is merely to manipulate you into either unwittingly committing acts of evil or to further Cabiri's plans.

    3. Graz'zt, demon lord of tyranny, lust and hedonism and undead, counts the vampires of the world among his followers, while the followers Malcanthet, demon lady of succubi, lust and hedonism and undead, include the wraiths of the world.

    1. To create undead or powerful necromantic effects, souls are needed. The more powerful the undead the more souls, or the more powerful a soul is needed. Thus each undead causes the world to slowly wither away as it traps living energy. The areas around necromancer's strongholds are often withered and lifeless and deserts are rumoured to have been created by great conflicts between necromancers.

    2. The fey hate necromancy above all other things, and fey hunters are tirelessly pursuing necromancers.

    3. The third moon is called 'the Arbiter' by the fey. A children's song say that the third moon judges those of impure blood.

    1) The current state of souls is not natural to the world. Originally, humanoids where "souless" like monsters are now. However, after a war in the heavens, the Goddess who won the battle killed the CE deity who started the conflict (who in-turn became the God who's corpse fell to the world.) and shattered his soul, attaching the pieces to the humanoids of the world and turning his corpse into many of the world's "monsters" so he may never reform himself to cause havoc again. (thus creating the current state of limited souls and the soul cycle that dominates humanoid existence.)

    2) The Deill Dominion is the same nation that is ruled by the immortal humanoid. The immortal humanoid is the current head chair of the heirophant council, and he has held the position for centuries.

    3) Chaotic Good and Lawful Good Celestials are in a state of constant warfare. Those who are lawful good serve the will of the Goddess without question while those who are chaotic good believe she and in turn the lawful good celestials who serve her have compromised their goodness by forcing humanoids into a state of scarcity and misery to "selfishly" protect the heavens at their expense. Lawful good celestials meanwhile believe that what the Goddess did was needed to protect the humanoids, and while they weep for the conflict caused by their Chaotic Good peers, are steadfast in their effort to crush their "rebellion" and bring order and peace back to the heavenly planes.


    (I'm not sure I'm doing this right, so if somebody could help me out/give me pointers I'd be grateful!)

    1. The demon lord Demogorgon, the former most powerful demon in the Underworld before Jubilex stole the title, is imprisoned deep beneath the Merfolk kingdom under orders from Jubilex. Rumors have it the Merfolk have even found a way to siphon magic from their prisoner, both empowering them and weakening Demogorgon.

    2. Flying high over the land is a vast sky city, constructed long ago by the Fey. It has since been abandoned by its Fey creators and taken over by Pazuzu, demon lord of flying creatures (avians in particular), locusts and corruption, and his fiendish servants, giving it the name "Pazuzu's Roost."

    3. The evil goblin goddess of beauty, love, enchantment and manipulation known as Akhurthekhaan is disappointed in the typically ugly looks of goblins, and often sends her succubi and incubus servants to mate with them, hoping to breed more visually appealing goblins. The offspring of such combinations often indeed look more visually appealing and, as a bonus, carry some of the power of their fiendish parent; normal goblins call them the Rhaakhec.

    2. The pyramids of Quezos are used by elves as a nexus for their rituals.

    3. The Rhaakhec families of the central mountains despise the dwarfish residents of the southern highlands as the dwarfs frequently journey into the mountains to hunt them.

    One thing I Noticed: part of the idea of this thread was what's mentioned in the title: short statements. A tendency I'm seeing over this thread is a tendency to write longer posts. Try to keep it to two or three facts per statement, not short essays. I.e. "Blorgsberg is a merchant city on the eastern sea" is three facts (name of the city, what kind of city, location). "The merchant city of Blorgsberg was established in 1759 by the merchant lord Blorgalorgadorg as a strong house against the Mirkish raiders who preyed on his caravans in that area" is about seven new facts, unless any of this was known earlier. Okay?

    1. Many scholars believe that there are only about twelve divine entities in total in the world, known under different names and aspects by different religions.

    2. Elven nobility trace their line to Oberon, a fey noble who gave his life to make their souls.

    3. The Deill dominion strongly insists that all the gods are aspects of their triad of chief deities, forcing all their conquered subjects to change their rituals and religions to reflect this.

    1. The River Styx is one of the only safe ways of travel through the Underworld for non-fiends, as no demon, yugoloth nor devil will attack anyone that's upon its waters.

    2. Malcanthet's Garden, a large forest of fiendish plant creatures that's blanketed by a pink fog which acts as a powerful aphrodisiac, was named due to the belief that it grew from but a drop of Malcanthet's blood.

    3. Rumors are spreading that Thervada has connections with the archdevil of greed, Mammon, and that they secretly kidnap displeasing outsiders and sacrifice them to him.

    1. Areas dotted across the world have been corrupted into terrain almost exactly like that of Syth'gon through the efforts of the Illithids.

    2. Almost all denizens of the far northern reaches of the world have fallen under the mental domination of the archdevil Levistus, who lies frozen within the ice of the north sea.

    3. Kenku were originally completely mute; the demon lord Pazuzu gifted them the limited speach they now use, and they have been indebted to him ever since.

    2. The Northwestern islands of Thervos are a holy land for elves allowing them to live without the fear of being soul hunted.

    3.The residents of Quezos despise dragons and kobolds painting them as creatures of pure sin.

    1. The world's second highest mountain lies right next to the oceanic Abyss. At its top stands a colossal statue of a stern-looking king gazing over the ocean.

    2. Whitefeathers are rare albino Kenku of great sorcerous power.

    3. It is rumoured that the reason so many archfiends are living in the material realm, where they are much weaker than in the Underworld, is that they are afraid of something even greater than them that lies imprisoned there.

    ((Should we maybe stop introducing too many new races into this world? We're over a dozen named intelligent species for this world and I dislike it when they get too kitchen sinkish.)

    1. Though the main elements are earth, air, fire and water, the main elemental planes consist of Vacuum, Lightning, Ash, Radiance, Salt, Steam, Dust and Mineral.

    2. The mysterious Mirror King is a member of a race long thought extinct, which is why no one knows what race he is.

    3. Ahrimanes, demon lady of transformation, is fond of practicing her horrific, fiendish experiments upon the unwitting inhabitants of the world, which has led to the creation of a wide variety of fiendish monsters that now plague the world.

    Boy, we're really turning that world a terrible place, aren't we. Let's counteract that a bit.

    1. Though the world is filled with demons and fiendish monsters, it is well known that a simple mirror, carried anywhere on the body, is enough to deter most fiends and keep mortals safe.

    2. The Sea Barons are a loose alliance of oceanic traders who have entirely forsaken life on land to roam the eastern and southern oceans.

    3. The Sea Barons are fiercely opposed to Levistus and his dominion over the northern waters and occasionally mount expeditions to free those trapped in his icebergs.

    1. Pratima, the Lady of Silver and Glass, Goddess of Mirrors, Wisdom and Prophecy, is the most powerful of the twelve gods.

    2. The Guild of Mirror Smiths uses their position to distribute small mirrors for free to poor communities across much of Diell and Thervada.

    3. Whether the Mirror King is related to Pratima or shares an origin is unknown as both only give vague responses in regards to questions on the matter.

    1. The mirror trick does not always work; fiends can resist the warding effect mirrors carry. The more powerful the fiend, the greater the chance it has to resist. As such, many travelers are wise to not stick around long when demons are about, knowing their mirror will only protect them for so long.

    2. Malcanthet's Garden is viewed by succubi, wraiths and other servants of Malcanthet as a human would view a holy site of their god.

    3. Zuggtmoy, demon lady of fungi, rot, decay and worms, once sent her worm demons to the planet of Syth'gon for reasons unknown; they were corrupted by the living world, and became the Neothelids.

    1. Blanks have none of the inherently selfish power of a soul from a dead evil god, and thus are beings of genuine communal compassion. This imbued them with the ability to stun any non Dragon creature with a touch of pure ecstatic bliss.

    2. Blanks, humanoids with no soul or badly damaged souls do not speak and instead use sign language or telepathy, which a majority develop.

    3. Drow of the orbweaver caravan will sell or sometimes give away trapped souls to desperate adolescent elves. Adult elves hate this

    That's all the named Places I've found that have a location given. Some were a bit vague, so I made a decision myself, like putting Quezo next to Diell, just for conflict potential.

    1. Whenever the second moon is eclipsed by the first, all mirrors in the world turn dark and stop reflecting.

    2. The Goddess Vesrisech is the goddess of pacts and contracts, runes and writing, lies and secrets.

    3. Cabiri, Demon Lord of Observation, is said to be deeply fascinated by Illithids, as many of their actions are so secret, they can not even be prophesied by the him.

    1. While the Magi's Curse is a horrible affliction, in some rare cases it can grant powerful boons in the form of magical abilities rarely seen among mortal races.

    2. In ages past Karmanos was once the capital of an empire that spanned much of the known world. However, with the closing of the city this empire collapsed and only a fiercely independent remnant around the city survives in the highlands between Diell and Quezo.

    3. Diell and Quezo have fought numerous skirmishes over a fertile valley just West of Crov'Nov hence most cartographers just mark the land as "disputed".

    The last one there is a reference to the overlap between Diell and Quezo on the map. It was probably a mistake, but now it's official. *evil laughter*

    1. Father Time, a mysterious god-like entity who holds dominion over time, created modrons, inevitables and several other intelligent mechanical beings as guardians of time.

    2. Volispula the Flensed Marquesse, demon lord of Finery, Ostentatious Cermony and Flesh, has something to do with the closing of Karmanos.

    3. Mazzmezz, a powerful chasme, has made his lair deep in Bullywug territory. He seeks to force the bullywugs into his worship, believing it will give him enough power to become a demon lord.

    2. While magic supposed cannot create life, several mages manipulate and bread beasts in order to make monsters.

    Not the first war started by bad cartography.

    1. The Northwestern continent is cloaked in noxious red mist and can not be accessed.

    2. Kirta is the goddess of fire, blacksmiths, kinship, familial love and marriage.

    3. North of the Diellian wall are the lands of the Cloudbreakers, a nomadic horde with terrifying weather magic.

    1. It is a known fact that all of history, past, present and future is written in the stars, but in ages past a now long dead archfiend obscured them with clouds of dark magic to conceal his schemes from his enemies.

    2. In the easternmost portion of the main continent lies the Kingdom of Adhurthu. Inhabited primarily by goblins, the kingdom is devoted to the worship of Ankhurthekhaan and so has grown into a land of magic and artistry.

    3. While most races generally get on badly due to the degenerative effects of population growth, for some reason goblins and hobgoblins manage to maintain friendly relations.

    1. Dragons are known to hibernate for several years at a time when food becomes scare.

    2. A group of 200 Red dragons, known as the Crimson tide, awakens from hibernation every 300 years.

    3.The Kingdom of Crov'nov frequently plays Quezos and the Diell Dominion against each other in its own bid to take the disputed zone.
