Kat may understand what's going on - and even if she's oblivious, Paz is not and might have explain it to her - but what can she do? Telling Annie "Your father's a jerk" will either alienate her and trigger her "defend Daddy at any cost" response, or cause her to agree and do nothing. What's needed, here, is some way to make Annie stop being such a Daddy's girl wannabe and LOOK at her relationship with her father. And how does she do that?

Until she can come up with an idea, Kat seems to be trying baby steps...

Perhaps she's exploring realms like Etheric Manipulation for which there's no off the shelf components and she's having to build large and bulky as she feels her way.
