Well, I'm bored. So, in the vein of Warkitty's delightful thread, I've decided to start my own.

To answer what's presumably question number 1 for a lot of people, why is this titled "Ask Red"?

I'm good friends with someone who shares my name. Since he's African American and I'm white as the driven snow, we were identified by color. He was black, and I was red-since those were our hair colors. I've taken the name "Red" as a moniker to be used online in many instances, such as in my recently made Blizzard Account (Hooray for free OVerwatch Weekend!).

So, ask away! I'll answer as best I can!

Oh gosh. Hrm...

I'm proud of my general creative skills-whether it's writing (which I really need to do more of), homebrewing, or anything else really, I tend to be able to come up with pretty good ideas.

I'm also proud of being a nice guy-most people I meet tend to agree that I'm polite and fun to be around, so that's a big positive.

Lastly, I'm proud of my intelligence. I pick up stuff pretty dinger dang fast, and can retain it rather well.

As for selling my soul... I don't think I would. Can't really think of anything that's worth giving up that for.

Why would I need to? I mean, if I had to, it'd be simple-my hair is both red and gred, but red is the better term to use since it has more consistent usage and is more commonly understood. But honestly, call my hair whatever you want. It's just follicles. :P

So what's the story behind the two characters that you use for your forum avatar? They seem a bit too particular to be window dressing.

Oh god. How much do you want to hear?

I have a friend-let's call him Garblax the Imperishable-who I very frequently do freeform RPs with. Just little stories, no more than a few hours, but we've got quite the cast of characters. Amongst them are Nerissa and Celina-a demon hunting duo. Nerissa is the brains of the two, being very intelligent and personable, while Celina is more of the tank of the duo, as well as the magic user. Both names were stolen from Infinite Space, as well as Nerissa's design and some of Celina's. Nerissa's personality is also somewhat similar to that of Nerissa of Infinite Space (Party Girl!) whereas Celina is nowhere near that (calm, reserved, pious individual).

Anyway, I've been using these characters with GtI for... Holy crap, I think it might be a FLIPPING DECADE NOW. I feel old. And I'm 20! They're pretty consistent characters, though we do mix it up occasionally with them.

There's a RPG rules system that I've been wanting to play for decades (and long ago I made PC's for), all my stuff for it is in deep, deep storage (maybe I'll find sometime after retirement).

I now find making and typing up PC's exceedingly tedious for all games (plus I'm pressed for time).

I'd love it if I could just play a pre-gen, but I don't think that's going to happen.

It seems you want me to make a character for you? I could do that, but honestly, I feel that if you aren't willing to put in the effort to make a character, there's probably other people more deserving to get into the game.

Nothing against you, 2d8, you're a cool person. But it might be for the best if you look for games that you ARE willing to put in the effort for.

Hmm how to word my question...

How come people are so afraid of warmth and friendliness from strangers? Is kindness so far gone from this world that everyone just fears others intentions? That all things, good or bad, must be done for a sort of personal gain? I do not understand this world... I need help.

Second of all... It's scary. It's unexpected. It's... Forced intimacy, I guess? It's someone you don't know, don't know if they're nice or not, don't know what their intentions are, and they just suddenly insert themselves into your world in a way that you're not used to.

And I guess I don't see that that much. Do you have any specific examples? Because I'm generally pretty friendly to people, in a polite manner, and I've never noticed this.

All the same, it seems like this is the kind of thing which sorta upsets you. So, some warmth from a stranger. *Offers hugs.*

So then yes, it is a result of fear, it is a society we have turned into, no rather created, to where we can not trust someone. They believe this is not normal, there must be a reason, a personal gain to the instigator. I do not really have any examples that I can think of off hand, it randomly happens and I think, hmm, wtf I was just trying to be your friend.

This does upset me, it irritates me, I do not understand how people aren't capable of trusting another person who shows them kindness. Though it leads to, those you whom you trust the most, can hurt you the most. Though at the same time, generally those types of people are AMAZING and will always be there no matter what happens. I have experienced being hurt over and over and over, and I do it over and over and will continue to do it, because when I do find that one person that actually allows me to befriend them, it brings me a lot of joy being given the privilege to make them smile. :)

I am not even talking about only in person, its everywhere. There are a lot of stories of people being stabbed on a busy street, and people doing nothing, as they do not wish to get involved. There are people who will allow others harm if it benefits them. Why does it have to be this way. Why in the hell can I not stand on the side of the street, hug people as they pass and give them $5, as well as a flower, before sending them on their way without being sued or the police arresting me for assault?
