After reading this thread, I'm now more confused about how I can contribute.

It looks like there are multiple backups of the sites now? Is there any need for my random links? Here's one anyway:

We do have a few folks with backups of the entire sites, yes. However, they're in straight HTML format, so they're not easily useable without some more processing. Having more mirrors is always a good thing, regardless of whether we have the full sites.

It's not in the Web Archive, but it is in Google's cache here.

I've made a local backup, but it would be great if someone else could make a copy.

I'm working on getting it all up on Secrets of the Archmages as part of the forth-coming redesign..
My May blitz captured 397436 threads total on all those discussion forums, so it's going to take a little bit.

I have this coming monday off work, and hopefully get it all online then.

Also, someone associated with Min-Max has contacted me here, and I'll be giving them a copy as well. If need be, I can probably help them reformat it into something they can upload and restore into threads.

As for reformatting them into something useful, it's just HTML.....

Just make sure to close our of the banners from way back machine and open all spoiler tabs. Just change save location to your googledrive.

I've discovered a new trick: Oselcamo's Monster Index Index is no longer in google/bing cache or on the internet archive, but I saved a copy of the archive page as html. If I click links on that saved page, it sends me to an archive page for it, even if that site is no longer in the archive online.

The Raw Zip of the Threads I downloaded is 146 MB (153,157,632 bytes).
There is a Excel file list in it, along with a Tab Delimited file for the Min-Max People to start rebuilding with.

The Zip of Brilliant Gameologists is 53.1 MB (55,726,080 bytes).
No index file yet. I'd have to whip something up.

I'm gonna give the Min-Max Board guys the files first before it goes onto SecretsoftheArchmages.net (currently under rebuild, ignore the ugly formatting and database download)

Caches still works if you can capture it the right way in the google search engine. That is right why of keyword combination to trigger it as one of the main choices in search results rather than sub category.

Min-Max has a copy of the mirror I did May 31st.

I'm going to see about helping them migrate it all over.

Worse case, they put it up as an inactive mirror as they did with Brilliant Gameologists.

Khadgar, this is something that has been eating at me for the longest time and I simply must tell you.

The word is 'thread', not 'treat'. The two words mean completely different things.
