Re: Girl Genius XXII: Paris Needs Pants
There's always a bar in this sort of thing, isn't there. I get the feeling that Mama Gkika's is going to make an appearance.

Re: Girl Genius XXII: Paris Needs Pants
Also, these extra stories are supposed to be rather fanciful folk stories, similar to the Heterodyne stories. They won't necessarily be consistent with the main GG canon.
FWIW, in the main GG canon, General Zadipok was the "missing" general, at least from the point of view of the other generals. They weren't worried about Higgs. (Lethologica said "missing," not "hidden.")Last edited by eschmenk; 2017-08-20 at 09:07 PM.

When you take on one Jager, you take on them all.
Probably true--in the same way that heroes always stand behind their friends when there's trouble and the not so hero-y always stand behind their friends.

He's a general so secret even the other generals don't know about him, of course.

I think "The Empire Strikes Back" would be ruined with Jaggers.
Still ... The Phantom Jagger?

Re: Girl Genius XXII: Paris Needs Pants
Thinking about the word Jager, it occurs to me that Pacific Rim would have been a lot more enjoyable with Jagerkin characters and dialog.

Re: Girl Genius XXII: Paris Needs Pants
Replacing the Gungans with Jägerkin definitely would be a improvement*.
Especially in the final battle against the battledroidsclanks.
Forget the leetle keed blowing up the command ship.
The Jägermonster would win that on their own.
And it would be glorious.
*Nothing against them, but unless we talk about the Darth and Droids version the Jägermonster are clearly superior.

Re: Girl Genius XXII: Paris Needs Pants
Oh well. So much for my powers of prediction...
The Phantom Menace would indeed be improved by Jagers replacing a certian character, and I would probably pay good money to watch. I'm just worried about who they would replace him with...
Worth a try. Let's see...

Re: Girl Genius XXII: Paris Needs Pants
Besides there always being a bar, there's always the tough-as-nails ex-girlfriend who still hasn't forgiven him for whatever they broke up over.
Not that this has much to do with Jager movies, but I first remember coming across the world "jager" in the story Mark Elf by Cordwainer Smith, where the meschenjager are killer robots left over from the sixth reich and whatever world war it was they started. It also has a telepathic bear and the daughter of a probably-not-mad scientist from World War II who put her in suspended animation for longer than intended. It's possibly the weirdest retelling of Goldilocks out there.
I also just realized it would work really well set in the Girl Genius world if it weren't for the fact that the main character finds killer robots and telepathic bears really strange things to run into.

Re: Girl Genius XXII: Paris Needs Pants
Whoever's screaming there they have a terrible timing.
Interrupting the traditional bar brawl before it even started...
Or it is a clever ploy to get their tab cleared."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."
