Help identify this picture please.
I ran across this image and I cannot find the source that it originated from. It's obviously a Wayne Reynolds illustration and looks like his stuff from the D&D 3.0 days. I assume it is from a 3rd edition D&D book but I can't figure it out. Anyone else know?

Re: Help identify this picture please.
Well the image exists in the WotC Monster Manual 2 art gallery as Silt Horrors but I don't see that picture in the book itself and I can't find any official 3rd edition information on a Silt Horror. Strange.

Re: Help identify this picture please.
Basically giant cephalopods that swim through sand. Some of the classic Darksun monsters have made it into the generic monster books (Cloud ray, braxxit, half-giant), but most of them were too weird, I think.

Re: Help identify this picture please.
I am familiar with Silt Horrors which is why I got excited when I saw this image and thought that there were official D&D stats for Silt Horrors in 3rd edition. That does not seem to be the case even though this image appears in the MM2 art gallery.
WotC is just messing with us then by floating that image around the internet? The image was not actually ever used in an official D&D book to represent Silt Horrors?Visit my Downloads section for my D&D 3.5 resources (DM screen, PC & NPC sheets, Reference sheets, etc, etc)

Re: Help identify this picture please.
Yeah, this happens. Like this weird training dummy from the Tome of Battle art gallery that never got used.
