    Default Set Item Help

    I'm looking to build a campaign where the characters have to recover 12 items which give set bonuses like from the Magic Item Compendium of 3.5

    3 items for 4 characters, 1 fighter type, 1 medic type, 1 magic user and 1 generalist.

    Once a character has got hold of at least 2 of their set items, they get a bonus. Having all 3 gives a bigger bonus, and having all 12 items gives a bigger boost to the party.

    Aim of the campaign is to use these items to beat up the big bad guy, whose intent is to destroy the world. I was going to try doing the campaign without dragons and have set bonus being to transform into one, but tbh, im not sure how to pull that off correctly.

    Any thoughts about what these 12 items could be, and what set bonuses could be assigned to them?

    Any help greatly appreciated

    I did this once with a specific set of plot items... I don't have enough magic items in my 5e games for this concept to work with 'random loot' situations

    fighter type;
    shield, helm, weapon.

    give the weapon bonuses for the extra items, stat bonuses for the second item, ability for the third.

    medic type;
    gloves/gauntlets, head band thing (forget the name, dias?), holy symbol

    same as above, but make it the symbol that gets stat bonus, gloves get the ability

    rogue type;
    tools, boots, cloak.

    tools get bonus, cloak gets ability.

    abilities;

    fighter sword, you could give it the keen ability (crits on 19) something akin to the green flame blade cantrip, disarming strike, or just elemental damage dice.

    cleric gloves, a weaker panacea(transmuters stone ability) removes all poisons,diseases,curses from one target for each condition removed heal 5hp, 3 times a day..

    rogue cloak, shadow step, twice per short rest. max 4 times a day.
