Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
Im pretty sure dora has admitted to being kinda bad at running a business properly, forgetting stuff, things like that. Having an assistant to follow her around going "Remember ms bianci, you have to grind 50 lbs of coffee beans for the bakery of doom store by tomorrow" or other things of that nature, would be handy for her. Faye doesnt really have any need of one either atm, her and bubbles are only just getting started and so are hardly swamped.

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
Wouldn't that be illegal, though? Tilly is paid by Mrs.Chatham to be a PA for Hannelore; if she ends up as receptionist for Union Robotics, or as Dora's Gofer, and not being paid by them to do so, surely that would be some kind of tax-related shenanigan?
I don't know, the US concept of tax and payroll is a bizarre and alien thing, but unless she's working for free as a volunteer then it sounds like the IRS might be interested to know about it.... Not to mention that Mrs.Chatham might not like paying her daughter's PA to work for someone else, and Faye/Bubbles can barely afford their own rent, let alone the wages for an employee.Last edited by Wraith; 2017-11-14 at 05:11 AM.

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
On the one hand, I am fascinated by a bathing procedure that takes 90+ minutes and wish to know what is involved.
On the other, the details may be too intimate, unusual, and disturbing to share. This DOES shed light on Hanners' reluctance several weeks ago to take a shower before going to bed, given her exhaustion at the time.
I wonder what Tilly / Taffy is going to do while she's bathing. And why Hannelore, a precision freak who has shown no problems remembering people's names in the past, continues to make that mistake.

Some of that time is likely spent pre-cleaning and post-cleaning the shower and the rest of the bathroom.

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
She doesn't want to take a vacation. She wouldn't want to work for someone else, I think. Her job is to badger Hanners into accepting "Mom is always right".

Taffy / Tilly is GOOD. But really, she's going to have to be able to disinfect the coffee shop and everywhere else Hanners goes for this to work.

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
I'm not sure whether it's a plot point, that Hannelore's biggest complaint about that outfit is that it'll get dirty rather than it being the same outfit (and hairstyle) as her mother.
Either Tilly is fully aware of Hannelore's preferences - which she has so far suggested to be true, by her attitude and references so far - and also has the added benefit of Winslow's guidance and chose to ignore them, or it was a deliberate attempt to get Hannelore more "Chatham-ised". The former makes her a pretty poor PA, the latter makes her a manipulative spy, and it frustrates me because Jeph probably meant it as just a quick Easter Egg...~ CAUTION: May Contain Weasels ~

I'm not sure what the benefit of sketching an outfit is supposed to be.

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
Neither do I, but it is very common in the fashion industry. I was to an exhibition of famous designers recently where, next to each dress, was the original sketch that started the process of the dress. I think it is the equivalent of sketching out pseudocode to help drive the conversation of design.

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
Tilly was aware enough that going into Hanners' closet would drive the latter nuts and end her employment opportunities right there. So she did a sketch instead to give Hanners ideas. On the one hand, that deference to and respect of your employer's boundaries is excellent, and shows she's on the ball regarding Hannelore's mental issues. On the other, she doesn't have a lot of practical knowledge about working in a coffee shop..
(Could Tilly be a trained psychiatrist Mom is trying to slip in under Hanners' radar to help her get better?)

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
This constant mistake in names, with Hanners not reacting when she's corrected, can't be just passive aggressiveness. Not in front of Dora. Something's wrong.

Re: Questionable Content 11: It's Like Seeing a Unicorn
To be honest, passive-aggressive seems to me like the only decent explanation. Maybe she doesn't notice herself, though.. Once in a while I catch myself doing that..

Maybe Tilly is just speaking too quietly to be understood.
