I remember when a friend of mine told me about that thread, but that was back before they apparently discovered how to give him 'nigh infinite' divine rank.
At this point he is pretty much an Over God.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
It will be even more apt if it turns out that Dominic played a part in Milov's unlocking of power thing, though unfortunately I don't think he did because of how surprised Dominic looks.
Oh my gawd, it just occured to me another aspect of Bleach that Dominic has in common with this webcomic, in it the protagonist is SO TEH AWESOME that he actually makes the people around him more TEH AWESOME because he oozes with it. Maybe that is what happened with Milov. Dominic is so awesome it seeped out and made Milov more awesome without Dominic even being aware of it.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
I could so see that with "I'm too sexy for my shirt" playing in the background, with Dominic screaming and Luna off somewhere with Neilen saying "Neilen... listen! That is the sound of Ultimate Suffering!"

I got Nimmel and Neilen mixed up again, but somehow I like it better that way.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
Personally, I think the Sailor Milov characterization is right on.
"In the name of the moon, I will punish you!"
Seriously, you kids with your new-fangled anime
PS - I'm really looking forward to Sunday. Mookie'll probably still be on this same fight by then, so we might get a full color Super Lupine, complete with blond super-hair.
Also: My DD Altverse PbP has two characters so far - Dominic and Jacob. Be sure to PM me your character choice if you'd like to play. It'll be very laid back, so don't worry about the time commitment.Lead Designer for Oracle Hunter GamesToday a Blog, Tomorrow a Business!

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
To be fair, I thought that was one of the better justifications for the "why everyone the main character knows develops super powers" trope.
I don't think Dominic's done that, aside from Mookie's inability to control power level creep. It's more like you gain experience based on the number of strips you appear in.If you like my thoughts, you'll love my writing. Visit me at www.mishahandman.com.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
You know, I never thought about it that way. It's sad that such an explanation makes more sense than 'suddenly X character can do something completely new! ... And everyone already knew they could do it and aren't surprised... Well, everyone who matters (IE not the reader)."
At least in this case Dominic seems genuinely surprised at this turn of events. It seems that Dominic has a serious problem predicting how people around him will react (short of his brain-washed brother) to his meddling.
Yeah, but I don't remember Sailor Moon blowing people up with super-blast. At least not ones that registered over nine-thousand. Then again, its been years since I've seen that show, and I never watched the ones with random letters after their names.
Edit: Oh, wait... WAIT, that's IT. At the end when she blows up Queen Whatsh-her-face and all her friends who are randomly ghostly (I don't remember why) help her uber-blast her... or something.Last edited by Monnock; 2007-10-27 at 12:44 AM.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
Dominic Deegan defeated One-Dimensional Villain.
Dominic Deegan gained 666 experience points.
Dominic Deegan has risen to level 56!
Dominic Deegan is trying to learn "Perfection".
But Dominic Deegan cannot learn more than four moves.
Delete an older move to make room for "Perfection"?
"Flaws" selected.
Delete "Flaws" to make room for "Perfection"?
Dominic Deegan has forgotten "Flaws" and learned "Perfection".

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
I just noticed something.
Milov is stabbing Siggy right in trouser snake. That is one sadistic bastard.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
looks like I was beaten to the punch with the Bleach Reference.
And thank you for linking to that strip, I had erased such evil from my mind, and now you bring it back. I'll have to wear the coat with the long arms, and live in the room with the soft walls, and I won't get to eat cookies again for a long time....

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
What I had forgotten and find interesting about this strip of Mookie receiving a standing ovation is, that it supposedly happened after giving a course on "Writing Unique Heroes/Villains".
Mookie teaching other people how to write.
They are multiplying, folks! They are multiplying and will soon swarm the literary world!
Also, interesting dialogue in today's strip:
Milov: "I have lost my friends. I leashed out against the woman I love, and have been forced to fight a man who was like a brother to me. The memories of what we shared are now wounds, hurting more than I could imagine anything could hurt."
Dominic: "But you got to wear a cool outfit! Whee!"Last edited by Winterwind; 2007-10-27 at 06:18 AM.

Lol, Dominic Faints. Probably fainted from Milov's "manliness" or his "awesome power".

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
Wow, we sure needed a talking head to explain everything to us, I mean the whole "power of friendship" thing wasn't obvious enough apparently. Thank you so much, Mookie, for having your cliche symbolism rendered moot by having your character explain in to us.
Also, apparently Dominic actually saw the floating memories like we did. I know why he's a seer now, he just reads the comic.Last edited by colonelslime; 2007-10-27 at 07:55 AM.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire
Just when I thought Mookie's art might be improving slightly, cheek teeth have made their dramatic return.
