As a side note, I had a Dominic Deegan-related dream last night. It involved El Chupacabras, which is apparently a hideous three-headed penguin. I'm fairly certain that both the chupacabra and his human contact were potential members of the Third Caste (eg still evil, but with a Freudian Excuse). I'm hoping that it'll turn out to be prophetic, because a three-headed mutant penguin may very well redeem the strip. Plus the outcast, bullied nerd was a bad guy.

In addition to the examples mentioned before, I think Dominic's blatant and completely unnecessary manipulation of Gregory in the Snowsong arc qualifies as well, as does the notion of Greg wanting to be manipulated.

He looks villainous, but in the way Jacob is, which is slightly friendly. Perhaps I will not be disappointed this time...

Thanks, Jack Mann. Had completly forgotten about that one.

Hmm, I don't know whether Mookie planned this far ahead, or remembered about a character established five years ago, but both is commendable and above what I have come to expect from DD recently.

It's hardly an indication things will go upwards now, but it is something like a faint shimmer inmidst of stygian darkness.

I need to point out, however, as always when Mookie starts doing trailers, that he still has not completed all arcs advertised in his very first set of trailers, which is more than two years old now, too (talk about "Coming Soon", huh?)!
Considering more trailers have come up since (where's that orc, Huk Tak, and what is his connection to Melna, huh?), I think Mookie could as well cut back a bit on presenting more trailers.

Nah, that doesn't really fit. The trailers are not some kind of unresolved mysteries - if what they advertise never came and the trailers would be removed from the archives (and our memories) noone would ever notice something was amiss. There is no great secret involved - only a statement from the producer/Mookie that this or that will appear on the show, and it doesn't.

Some kind of Cancelled in Production trope would fit better, but I don't seem to be able to find such a thing.

The Oracle Hunter came to the DD mocking thread instead. As for Huk Thak, his part in the story is so poorly-planned that Mookie is seriously asking us who his is and what his motivations are (as I said in the last thread, I'm hoping that Huk Thak just walks in out of nowhere and kills Melna without any explanation).

Re: Today's filler: I initially thought that "Mosly" was the name of some DD fan. Having seen Mosly's one appearance, I'm still convinced it's one of Mookie's friends who thinks he looks that badass. I swear, if it turns out that Dominic could have contacted Mosly earlier to make things a whole lot easier (Dom's got a pretty casual relationship with him, and he looks like he could have at least been an extra body during "Storm of Souls") but didn't do so for some cheap reason, I... actually, I won't be suprised in the least. Really, there's no other way for Mookie to handle it, unless Mosly's some creepy stalker.

Well, Mosly does look somewhat sinister in this trailer... although I wouldn't be surprised at all if Mookie presented him that way in the trailer and in the very first panel wherein he appears, only to have him and Dominic embrace each other in the next panel. Oooh, what a wonderful surprise!
