Creator Breakdown fits. I thought Executive Meddling might work as well. I'll keep searching the archives.

    Really... That's Mosly...

Honestly, I strongly doubt Mookie had it in mind since back then. It seems to me more likely he was reading old comics, and saw a plot point he could abuse, having run out of plausible ideas.

Edit: Plausible Ideas??!? what Am I saying! this is DD. I meant GOOD ideas (maybe he's finally starting to realize what he's done in the last few arcs.)

I fail to see how "good" makes more sense than "plausible" in this context.

Although, no, that's not entirely right.
Each of the former arcs, and especially the one we're in currently, could have been a fairly interesting story if handled better. So I think the ideas for the story arcs are not so much a problem as the ideas for their resolutions.

I will get my arc... maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday

It's strange, but finding out that Mosley actually had a mention in the comic makes the whole set-up seem lazy.

I mean, when he first started doing these, I thought it was pretty cool - you know, a neat teaser that, when the named arc started coming up, his regular readers could say "ooo, do you think X is starting up?"

But after the Huk Thak thing never materialized (and the Oracle Hunter, for that matter!), it just seems like he's just throwing stuff together and hoping it works.

Anyhoo, some speculation on this "Mosley"
    1) Note his belt - apparently he fights In The Name of the Moon too. Perhaps he and Sailor Milov will fight for the fate of the world!
    2) His features are reminiscent of Nielen, perhaps he too is an Elemental Fiend?
    3) In the alternative, maybe he's an elf, or some other sub-race who is also Proud and Noble... and hates Callanians soooo much!

OTOH, the implication of this is that Mookie makes a good DM/GM/Hollyhock God/Storyteller/whatever. Then, the plot resolution comes from the players, and everything becomes good!

These two were my first thoughts as well. Interesting that we both thought of Neilen, there isn't much hinting at him, yet somehow, I still felt reminded of him.

A good gamemaster should be able to put sensible NPCs and settings together as well. Mookie used to possess the first ability to some degree, but recently, he's been lacking.
Basically, it would be like playing in a world with the Caste system active. A horrifying thought...

The origin of Mosly... and naked elf girls. It's only natural, given how much the keenspot fanbase has been waxing nostalgic about the old days of DD. Don't ask what they're doing now that their thirst is being quenched, though.

Maybe it's Oswald Mosley, the former leader of the Fascist party in Britain. I bet, in the next strip, we'll see a spellwolf wearing a suspicious moustache and a swastika. It all makes sense!

I wonder whether Mosly's coming implies the naked elf girls will arrive, too.

...Of course, they likely are only skeletons now, given the many months/years of delivery time. ("Oh, wait, elf girls require to eat and drink, right?")

Whoa. I don't even begin to imagine how Mookie, with his subtle and tactful political and moral messages, would depict the Holocaust.

Ah. I try to ignore the emokrap about his relationships and moves, so it didn't occur to me that there was collaboration.

Makes sense though. Think we can find a way to deed the comic to her? She'd probably be able to draw better, too!

We? Never! Mookie does! By bringing in a character who clearly is a hint for the Nazis' conquest of the strip! Because the character shares a name with some British fascist leader! Which obviously is conclusive proof!

Now that I think about it, maybe Mosly's coming actually signifies something for the current arc.
Maybe he is some kind of wizard who specialises in the Moon (no, don't ask me what that's supposed to mean), and something will happen in this arc which will require his knowledge - either something related to the Moondance, or to Milov.
Hey - maybe he is a spellwolf himself? Cause Dominic of course has a pen pal within every single race.

So do I, but given the tendency of showing scenes he presumably considers erotic he has developped lately, I wouldn't be surprised if it actually happened.

You do know that Mikey plucked the name (possibly the character, I'm not sure) "Nimmel Feenix" from the name of one of his characters from a DnD campaign he was in, right? The self-insertion had been there from the very beginning.

    *headdesk*

No, I was not aware of this particular bit of trivia, but it hurts.

I would say, let's hope he just had an uncreative phase, couldn't think of a name and thought this one was cool, but somehow, I am not that optimistic...
