The festival I worked at was a locally organised one so in a way different size category but it had a nice quality to it all the same.
It focussed on special beers, mainly IPA's instead of ''regular'' beers like Pilsener and Helles. Also despite being locally organised we had about seven different kinds from the USA.(Now I know what Grimbold drinks, ha)
Thatīs a bit hard to explain. The actual fair was 5 days and from 0800 to 1800. Officially. After that were very impressive booth parties or special events outside the fair areal and beyond that were the invitations to visit some testing facilities and actually brew a batch using that equipment. Naturally, this was done before the fair and timed so that your brew was done and ready for tasting at the fair.

I just decided to read about everyone's favorite poisonous snake. The only reason nobody has a different poisonous snake as their favorite is that there's no such thing.

Just because a snake species lives in the water does not mean it's a "corral snake" which you also spelled wrong. It's "coral," except it actually isn't, because it's not in the coral snake family.

EDIT: I'm also not particularly fascinated; I just decided to read a bit about them.

Okay I'll be honest I thought you were just seeking comments about cobras but I didn't figure you'd just look up whatever snake someone said and read about it. Nice twist.

I was hoping for someone to attempt to correct me by saying "venomous" and I could respond "they're that too, yeah" or something.

Speaking of which, cobras aren't poisonous.

It's so weird how regional beer is. Here, pretty much every bar has 2 or 3 different kinds of IPA on tap, some have as many as 5, and it's generally when most people assume you drink if you aren't drinking something from a macrobrewery.

(I prefer stouts, myself, and those are much harder to find than IPAs around here.)

Fun fact: Potatos and tomatos are actually closely related. The potato plant grows green, tomato-like fruits which are highly poisonous (everything green on a potato plant is poisonous, including any green spots on the potatos themselves). When the potato was introduced to Europe, it took some education before people understood that they were supposed to eat the roots and not the fruits, and that the people trying to introduce it weren't all crazy.

An addition to this, the reason why Tomato is poisonous is because it's part of the Deadly Nightshade family. In the past (specifically Rome/Greece, I always forget which) people used to eat the green part, as Teddy says, instead of the red...because they thought the RED part was poisonous. Oops.

It's unclear from what you said, but just in case anyone's unsure: the actual tomato fruit is not poisonous in the slightest. The *leaves* of a tomato plant are slightly poisonous, but I'm not sure how many of them you'd have to eat to actually die from it, or why anyone would want to do that.

Since both potatos and tomatos are from South America and weren't introduced to Europe until the Spanish seafarers in the 1500s, I think this story has to be taken with a pinch of salt...

That's fair. Maybe they had some other sort of tomato esque plant? Imported from like, Italy or something cause that seems logical to me.

It's also possible that that sort of thing happened when they were first imported to Europe. Just because it involves Greece doesn't mean it has to be Ancient Greece.
