Need a streaming program

Hey all, im starting to do some streaming on Youtube and it went ok(ish) the first time when i used Gameshow. And then i just tried it again now and it saved none of my actual settings and refuses to acknowledge that my mic exists, plus when it does i get this insane feedback loop and i sound tiny as all hell. I know the sound issue isnt my mic so i unistalled Gameshow (as i freaking hate it as its laid out like crap and apparently hates my mic with a burning passion) so i need a new streaming app, preferably something simle as all i want is a screen cap and mic detector.

OBS Studio is the go-to program for streaming for most folks these days. Free, has loads of features and add-ons, and it's free. Fairly painless to set up, particularly if you just want game and mic.

I'll put another one in the hat for OBS. Excellent program with great support and free. However, what OS do you run and what capture device do you use? Or is this a computer game. What games do you play, because I'm always looking for more people to watch!

I found OBS like 2 hours after posting and i've downloaded it. Its pretty much exactly what i want cuz im just playing Medieval 2 right now and i just want to be able to friggin talk.

Also my channel is mostly political and social commentary, im just trying to figure out where to go at the moment so im currently filling time with Medieval 2 Livestreams.
