    So it seems we're on board (in general) with the plan of 1: kill the reave, framing the Dwarves to foment unrest and 2: compose a forgery giving us ownership of the mansion (framing the Dwarves for the theft as well, I'm sure).

    Anyone have any objections or shall we move forward with this?

    @Archon, what sorts of DCs would we be talking about for these 2 (3?) tasks?
    1: kill him, strength;
    2: forge the sales document, Int;
    3: frame the Dwarves, Wis/Int?

    For simplicity, X's mods are:
    Str +3
    Dex +1
    Con +4
    Int +0
    Wis -1
    Cha +5

    I suggest we include these mods (perhaps as a spoiler) in at least our OOC posts. I suspect we'll be referring to them a lot.

    The Reeve isn't expecting the attack. So his assassination will be a DC10. with the STR roll
    Forging the documents is a INT DC12
    Framing the Dwarves is also an INT DC 16

    I can plant the masterwork to help frame the dwarves for at least theft, making it more plausible they were behind other crimes such as murder.

    I could start with the haunting of the graveyard by illusions, possibly include the Reeve as ghost when he's dead. This action I like the most to do, since it ties into deceit and sorcerous powers.

    Otherwise, I could attempt to frame the dwarves and make use of my cha to get rerolls?

    Farmerbink and Ionbound, what do you want to do?

    Hmmm. By the math, Amber is the most likely option to (successfully) frame the Dwarves. +2 isn't great vs DC 16, but it's the best we've got, and she can hypothetically make up to two rerolls.

    It might be really important to ascertain 1: if we can assist on these checks and 2: what the consequences for failure would be. Alternatively, are there other actions we could pursue first (stealing a Dwarf's weapons, or sowing discord in general?) to reduce the DC or attain circumstantial bonuses? It might be in our best interest to wait and kill the Reeve at another time...

    I think Mira's plan right now is to try to take command, to some extent, of the local garrison by impersonating a high ranking knight that she knows of. Not sure what I'd have to roll for that but surely the Torc of Disguise will help.

    Yes there are things you can do to lower the DC.
    Using hammers for murder is one.
    slipping those bloody hammers into the dwarf's rooms in another.
    I probably shouldn't give more examples and instead encourage you to come up with your own ideas. . .

    Mira wouldn't need to roll for disguising herself. She would need to roll to convince the Lord Commander to appoint her as Reeve in his steed. That would be a DC of 16, but a DC of 12 would instead convince the Lord Commander to place one of his captains as Reeve, and Mira could take that Captain's spot. . .

    Mira impersonating another knight and convincing Lord Commander to either make her Reeve or a replacement Captain (INT DC12-16)
    Forging Documents showing you’d purchased the manor and/or warehouse. (DC 12 or DC 8 if you use the suggestion below)

    Looking over your INT scores, I noticed that Irene is actually tied for highest INT Score with Amber. (and that sadly Grumblejack is in a three way tie for second highest) I am going to have Irene suggest that you forge the documents by actually buying the manor/warehouse with the Ivory you got from the hunters as a sizable chunk of the payment. Then you can steal your payment back when you murder the Reeve and plant the ivory on the dwarves as well.

    X will roll for planting evidence (I think the ivory, in this case?) and forging the documents. DC 12 Dex and 8 int, respectively.

    (1d20+1)[15] vs 12. If fail: (1d20-1)[10] vs 12.

    (1d20)[18] vs 8. If fail: (1d20-2)[5] vs 10.

    If one of the above is *still* a fail, (1d20-4)[7] (+1 for dex) vs 14/12.


    Edit: neat. Aced them both! I guess I can technically attempt up to 2 more tasks, with a con mod of +4. I still have all 4 re-rolls from charisma, too.

    Edit again: one side benefit from this method: it's MUCH easier to write prose when you already know whether your attempts were successful or not. I like it.

    Then I'll frame the dwarves even more than already done by planting my masterwork lute as proof they're a thieving bunch.

    (1d20+3)[11] vs 12. Reroll: (1d20+3)[7] vs 14.

    If there is still a fail, reroll: (1d20+3)[8] vs 20/16.

    I suggest Irene sows discord about the dwarves by rumourmonging! She can tell my lute was stolen and she suspects the dwarves!

    EDIT: Or not... fail everything.

    No idea how to handle those consequences, though.

    We did not work this out further, but well, maybe a nice time to set up a rite which we can trigger at some opportune moment and sacrifice a bunch of their people in flames to restore the flag to its power?

    As for the ritual with Lantern Archons, that means if the ritual isn't done for an entire year, they are unsummoned, right? Seems like that can't be done within the time we're here, or is the passing of the year upon us? If it is possible though, Amber has Darkness 1x/day. Let's beat that phrase “There is no darkness so deep that a single candle cannot defeat it.”

    As for actionables.. maybe Amber can try to steal something from the wizard? Perhaps he has some scrolls that are useful. Maybe we can frame a soldier for that too. Time to get that insubordination going!

    I believe you took the "You shall be my angel slayer" bonus trait. That gives you a +2 to knowledge checks on angels.
