Isley Cifer, the Demon Eater
He nodded towards the orc. "Gotcha." he replied, before moving towards the elf and grabbing him in the most easy to carry manner, whether bridal style or around waist or locking arms, whichever is more convenient. Re: The Lazarus Gambit | 5e D&D | IC Thread
As you ascend you can make out the other cells of the prison. Some contain long-dead bodies, while others show signs of attempted, but less successful breakouts than yours. Most of the cells are intact, but one or two show signs of damage. The whole place gives off an air of long abandonment and neglect.

The climb is a tough one. The next ledge up is 10 feet and handholds are few. While the bars remain resilient, the stone crumbles in places, adding to the peril. Your progress is slow, but you soldier on.

He pondered that as he kept ascending, letting his wings get a workout. Usually he flew in full armor but the elf weighted almost the same.
"Something was said about us suffering for eternity. Maybe people here don't fully die, they just... decay? I mean, we did die once already so unless we were ressurected, then we're just wandering souls. And I don't think souls can starve or die of old age."

Hearing the tiefling muse about the state they were in a stone handhold gives way and he nearly falls. Gripping a metal bar his claws screech in protest on the metal before he arrests his fall. Garrik mutters under his breath, "Here's hoping we can't die from falling in here either."

"You'll die here alright," pants Tobias, pulling himself up another level. The magic of the cells means you don't need to eat or drink, but the dead book awaits us all in the end, see?" You fall down the shaft into the darkness, cursing your pointless return to life...
... and to add injury to insult, you're kicked in the side of the head.
Deglan, in a feat of epic heroism, swan dives from his perch and kicks you hard, sending him back to the wall to safety and you crashing into an empty cell with no bars.Last edited by WhiteRobbit; 2017-09-15 at 06:18 PM.

Re: The Lazarus Gambit | 5e D&D | IC Thread
Dagelan focused on the light above him and sprinted up the wall, until suddenly it was eclipsed buy a large dark green object. "What the hell," Deglan said before seeing the object pass by him.
In a quick moment of reflex he jumped down towards the object and kicked it into an empty cell, using the momentum to push himself backwards into one of the bars of another cell that was close.
Out of breath Deglan slumped down in front of the bars and collected himself. Shaking his head and collecting himself he shouted up at the others, "I be fine, nah sure about th' Orc." He then calls out across the chasm, asking Zuknar if he was ok.

While Deglan checks on the orc, the rest of you resolve to continue your climb. They will catch you up, or fall with much more finality in the attempt.
The prison seems to go on and on forever, but gradually you begin to think that maybe the green light is getting a little bigger.
By the time you finally reach the top, Isley's wings are starting to ache. Above you, blocking your escape is an iron grate. Through the bars, you can see the source of the green light is a curious torch of green fire."All people love themselves too much to be changed by something as simple as love."

All Isley did was stare at the grating above them and then at the Necromancer. It took him but a moment to change his grip to hold the elf with one hand and aim the other at the grating, before releasing blasts of the eldritch energy he held access to straight at the bars

Naet thought for a second, before coming to a decision. He then muttered to himself, and several of the runes covering his skin began lighting up. Before anyone had a chance to say anything, Isley and the Necromancer had been teleported to the other side of the grates, and the light of the runes began to dissipate back into a dull glow, and then back to darkness. "Is that good?"

Re: The Lazarus Gambit | 5e D&D | IC Thread
You find yourselves in a stone chamber containing nothing but the green fire torch, the gate and an iron door. From this side of the grate, you notice that it is, in fact, hinged. A broken and rusted padlock near the latch suggests evidence of a previous escape.

Isley took a moment, staring at the padlock... Before blasting both it and then the part of grating and latch where it was, to make it look as if he was the one to break it and no, it wasn't broken beforehand.
"We were the ones who broke the padlock to let others go and the teleport was completely necessary, right?" he said as he looked towards elf. Nobody will know the truth.

Naet looked to Isley with a mischevious grin. Or at least, the closest thing his muscles would allow before failing.
"Why, you say that as if it wasn't completely obvious!" He said, his voice hushed as not to attract attention to what he said.
"If You boys down there want to push up on the grate, it should come off. Isley here blasted the lock, so it should only be as difficult as the grate is heavy." Naet shouted to those below whilst stepping off of the grate.

Making his way to the top, Garrik grips the grate with a clawed hand and shoves. The grate swings open with a loud, rusty squeal of protest and he climbs through the opening to the room. He surveys the room they are in as his eyes flicker over the green flame and then to the door. "Did you try it to see if its locked?"

The door is unlocked. Beyond, you see a corridor extending away into the stygian gloom. The corridor is lined with iron cell doors - grim edices set with huge rivets and cruel little windows for guards to view whatever wretch is unfortunate enough to be imprisoned within.

Zuknar, The UntamedAs Zuknar slips and falls, just out of reach of the bars to catch himself, he closes his eyes and starts to accept his fate. He gives a little prayer to Guumsh, thanking him for the powers he blessed Zuknar with, and just as he was about to end his prayer a boot kicks him in the face and he is smacked into a cell without bars. For a moment everything is a daze, and his eyesight is once again blurry. Just as Dagelan gives the status report, everyone hears Zuknar let out a string of orcish curses. They then hear a roar, as if a wild, dire lion was down int he hole, and Zuknar pops his head out of the cell and starts to climb with ferocity.
