Re: The Lazarus Gambit | 5e D&D | IC Thread
With everyone ready, Naet activates the Teleportation Circle.
You all feel a gut-wrenching lurch as the magic takes hold. You feel compressed. Breathing becomes impossible. Then the stretching begins. Just when you think your joints will pop, you feel your stretched selves being squeezed through the eye of a needle and suddenly, violently, reconstituted.
Isely and Naet, familiar with this sort of travel, step forth manfully. The rest of you stagger out the other side, shaken to the core and hating arcane magic a little more than you did 30 seconds ago.
You recover swiftly, however. Because a voice shouts "Too late! We're too late! At them, my brothers! Force them back!"
Before you can even get your bearings, you are set upon by 5 formidable figures in armour. Unlike the rusty, gaunt figures below, these figures are dressed in fine armour, decorated with white and silver tabards. They wear full face plates, but judging by their accents and general shape, you take them to be human. Every one of them wields a greatsword that they want you to meet. Intimately.

Deglan, Demon of the Sea
Level 9 Monk | HP: 43/49 | Ki: 8/9 | AC: 20 | PP: 22
Deglan uses every fiber of his being to not keel over and start hurling, appearances must be kept of course. He shakes his head and grits his teeth, Zuknar next to him becomes acutely aware of just how little Deglan cares for the arcane magics.
Before Deglan can say something to the others he notices the guards standing directly opposite of where the group has just emerged. Where one typically would have a scowl from finding themselves in this situation, Deglan lets a smile quickly creep across his face. He chuckles a bit before speaking, "FINALLY! Somethin' livin' t' sink me blade into!" He makes as much eye contact as he can find with the men standing in armor, " Get yourselves, ready lads, th' demon has arrived t' th' party!"

Isley, quickest off the mark assesses the situation. There are six knights bearing down on you. Four are charging in, while two hang back, appearing to prepare spells. You are in a circular room with a high ceiling. An archway behind the knights, decorated in sigils appears to be the only way out. The room isn't very big - probably 60ft in diameter. Isley Cifer, The Demon Eater
Level 7/2 Paladin/Warlock | HP: 55/55 | Lay on Hands Pool: 35 | AC: 17
His expression darkened at the situation, his eyes focusing on the knights casting spells in the back. His mind immediately went back to the time of his capture, when he was held off by the paladins of the order for clerics and others to defeat him using spells. It won't happen again.
His wings unfolded and with a powerful flap he took into air, flying above the heads of the knights surrounding them, leaving them to Zuknar. He drew his sword once more and struck one of the casting Knights. With his focus, the eldritch power that weakened his foes from before, it still remained. And it quickly took a new victim, the one he was about to strike, weakening their constitution

Deglan, Demon of the Sea
Level 9 Monk | HP: 20/49 | Ki: 8/9 | AC: 18 | PP: 22
Deglan watches Isley fly up and strike out against one of the knights, unfortunately, it did not feel the strong foe. With one charging towards him now Deglan takes a side step to dodge the impending attack from the knight in front of him. He dodges gracefull but unfortunatly does not see the next blow coming at him. The greatsword cuts right through Deglans armor glides across his side right above his hip, letting his crimson blood flow down his leg.
Barely a moment allows for focussing on his fresh wound as the knight casting some spell hurls a holy fire out towards the group. He just barely dodges the fire and winces in pain from straining his fresh wound.
Spoiler: Dexterity save against Holy FireRolled an 16 <------- See OOC for roll, also +5 from paladin aura.
Deglan has an evasion ability. So for area effect spells with a dex save that allow half damage Deglan would take none if successful and half if he fails.

Naet, weak already, and somewhat weary from the previous fight, falls over, unconscious. Realizing this, his right hand jitters nervously for a moment, before having what can only be described as an epiphany. It crawls from Naet's wrist and onto his face, and several runes on he hand glow. With a magic sounding thwump, the hand sends a burst of undead energy coursing through Naet's body, and he convulses a bit (imagine a defribulator)

Degan centers himself and focuses on his opponent rather than the pain in his side. He ignores his fallen companions, knowing that if he doesn't start killing these foes they'll all soon be dead.
"Zuknar lets do this!"Deglan yells hoping to boost his comrade's spirits.
Deglan led in first with his longsword attack, he fills the blade with a piercing Ki energy that will be released inside his foe if he connects a hit. Then Deglan follows it up with a flurry of multiple blows each fueled by his ferocity.
Knowing he may not be able to drop someone with just one attack Deglan infuses his extremities with his Ki and attempts to also stun his opponent as he hits.

If they fail they are stunned. <----------- Deglan will use his stunning strike after his first successful hit. If the opponent fails then any attack after the one triggering stunning strike will have advantage.
Also to Note: If at any time the opponent should fall Deglan will move towards another one and continue his attack.

Naet, unprepared for the blast, falls immediately to the ground, unconscious. Lucky for him, his hand is more intelligent than the rest of it's ilk, thanks to it being a familiar, and it managed to pump enough Naet's own mana into him to stabilize him.

His grin, that he held on his face as he attacked, fell the moment he could feel the magic encircle him. The memories of his capture by his order still fresh in his mind, he froze, inadvertently letting the chains bind his body and secure it in place where he was standing. They dug into his skin, his wings, making him helpless. His comrades being beset by the holy fire... His mind went back to the helplessness he felt on the first crusade against demons, as he was forced to see the rest of the group slaughtered. And then, the scene of his execution played out before his eyes, just before the axe fell on his ne-
He roared, shaking the air and the chains of holy light with it. "NOBODY! BINDS! DEMON EATER!" With that declaration to the world, the chains holding Isley broke into motes of light that soon dissipated.
Immediately afterwards, however, his body was engulfed in a fury of divine fire. And yet, he stood tall, his skin almost not reacting at all towards the fires, instead seeming as if it was irritated by it. It was the divine energy that these flames held, however, that were the main source of his damage. And yet, even as his body was buffeted by the holy fire, he moved his arm, letting the open palm point towards the one that released those divine flames... And out from it blasted a torrent of his own flame, piercing through the knight's own attack and striking him, roasting him alive in his own armor...
