Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Tears of Amber - Main
Aistriú looked over the collection of Abyssal hellspawn from their perch on Umbear's shoulder. (Taking 10, because safe distance and not engaging in fighting; 28 planes, 24 religion.)
"Grubby things are Abyssal larva. Immune to anything that attacks the mind, and resistant to acid, cold and fire."
"Can't see the wraiths, but here's what I know about them: Also immune to attacks on the mind, they don't bleed, they can't be put to sleep, poisoned or get diseases, they can't be stunned, and they aren't affected by death-effects. Don't let them kill any humans; any humans slain by a wraith will become one! It's also impossible to hide from them... they can sense any living creature that gets within sixty feet of them."
"The chewed-up, floating orc torsos are shredskins. The body you see is not their own. They're shapeless beings that possess corpses. Their shapelessness makes them immune to precise attacks or well-placed hits."
"The small, wolf-headed, bat-winged things are barizous. They're assassin demons. They're immune to electricity and poison, and resistant to acid, cold and fire. They also resist magic to some degree. They can change color to blend in, like a chameleon."
"The chained dwarves are Forge Spurned. They breathe the heat and soot of the forge, which can burn, and blind the unlucky. They collect souls for their master, so if someone falls, they may try to snatch the body and make a break for it. They're also fairly cowardly and will flee when the odds don't favor them. Which is bad when you don't want them to escape..."
"The flaming skull is a Hatethrall. They can focus the their flames into an attack like a 'Scorching Ray' up to a hundred feet away. Their resistances are the same as the barizous."
"These things seem to be going down pretty easily, but I wouldn't let your guard down just yet," Aistriú said.
"I'm not really sure how to help, to be honest! It doesn't seem like these guys are troublesome enough to warrant boosting you heroes with my abilities and we're still too far away for most spells, though I'm not sure my offensive spells are really needed right now. Things seem largely under control, so long as things don't start escaping. I guess just let me know what you guys need!" the danthienne called out.Last edited by Wolfykins; 2017-10-12 at 09:23 AM.

The western group of Shedskins hovered off to the west while the north group went north. Thr group of Barizou followed suite. The heroes were too powerful for them. They sought destruction elsewhere.
Just as the area cleared of demons, more larva poured out of the door, making slimy, splashes as they moved, filling up the area.
A tall, metal, lady-shaped creature snuck through the madness and headed north, while a blue, flying creature came out and flew out to destroy. Suddenly, the ground open up and a plant creature rose up.
Just as more monsters where popping up, 32 guards appeared to contain the battle to the park.

Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Tears of Amber - Main
Aurora shook her head and scowled down at the writhing hellspawn. Remembering that the others had said there were invisible enemies, the centaur took a small jar of salve out of her spell components pouch and smeared it on her eyelids.
"Divine Wind grant me sight of the unseen," she murmured in Sylvan.Spoiler: Spellcraft DC 20True Seeing
Then Aurora shifted 5' northwest while descending 5', so she could be in range of Markas if he needed it while surrounded (H/I, 9/10, 10'). No sooner had she done that, then her horseshoes acted!
Aurora's eyes flashed an unearthly blue and her voice seemed to have a dual quality briefly, as Iblisavcisi used her voice.
"Rüzgar," she said, Iblisavcisi echoing the word telepathically.
A ripple of power spread out from the horseshoes on Aurora's feet as they activated their dedicated power. (Check to overcome SR if applicable: (1d20+15)[26])

The banishment effect allows a Will save (at a -4 penalty) to negate.
Aurora winced slightly and glanced apologetically at Gorrun.
"Sorry! They act on their own when faced with evil outsiders," she said wryly. "If they did any harm to your men, I'll undo it!" she promised.

Aurix is flying even with the ramparts, so he is able to see Umbear streak across the sky and appear in the midst of the larva, then send blasts north to attack the wraiths. "Nice one, Umbear! I'm gonna go help those guards in the northeast corner of the tower! Hopefully I won't need backup! Torilee, tap me!" Torilee uses the wand to cast Haste on Aurix.
Aurix flies off to the north. He sees a gray demon engaging with the City Guard. Aurix assesses it and says, "This one looks dangerous...I'd better step in." He moves 80' north, parallel with the ramparts, then turns 10' west. (North map, moving to Z44/5') "I shall strike you down, daemon!" Aurix shouts, halo flashing as he decides to smite the creature. Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Tears of Amber - Main
Markas was concerned about how fast that Iron Maiden was moving, but seeing Aurix step up and end the threat reassured him that Gorrun's men would be safe with the champion fighting at their side and leading them. Markas had been able to take out the small fry no problem and currently the area near him was mostly clear of enemies, but he was also concerned that something new and more dangerous would emerge like it did a moment ago. Therefore he entered a meditative stance and focused his attention on his immediate surroundings, ensuring that anything that came towards him either from the tower or from enemies already nearby would be met with a swift fist.

Until the beginning of your next turn, you may make attacks of opportunity against any opponent in this threatened area that provokes attacks of opportunity. You may move as part of these attacks, provided your total movement before your next turn does not exceed your speed (currently at 120' due to Aspect of the Raptor). Any movement you make provokes attacks of opportunity as normal (Markas has mobility, so any attacks of opportunity must beat an AC of 72).
Spoiler: if triggered:Markas will move throughout the threatened area to strike at enemies until his speed runs out if necessary.
Reminder: Attacks count as Magic, Cold Iron, Silver, Lawful, and Adamantine
Attack bonus = +32 for the first four hits, +31 for any subsequent hit (sorry earlier messed up the math by 1 on to hit and damage on earlier attacks)
Damage = 4d8+7 + 12d8+6 (Greater Vital Strike + Devastating Strike [forgot I had those]) + 1d4 (bleed, if applicable)

Markas took the opportunity to fight incoming larva with his Combat Patrol. He punched left and right as filthy Abyss maggots spewed forth from the Abyssal radiated tower. With each punch, a larva bled a little a moment for vaporizing from the material realm. Altogether, he dropped six.

Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Tears of Amber - Main
Jaylyn was flying toward the fighting when she saw Aurora's horseshoes activated an ability that knocked down the twins. As she continued flying she noticed they wasn't moving and chose to changed course to assist the closest fallen twin. She dropped down 5 feet (putting her at 15 feet in the air) and moved diagonal 55 feet and left 5 feet ending at O16. Once she felt she was close enough to assist she looked over at the Magpie on her shoulder. "Go and heal them," she said pointed to the one at M10.
the Magpie flew off Jaylyn' shoulder descending 5 feet itself (putting it 10 feet in the air) and northwest 5 feet and 25 feet north and touched the fallen Twin, activating it's breath of life ability.

Festival of Heroes: Jaylyn a 5 foot Kitsune with golden brown fur, black ears, and golden eyes. She's an average build leaning on the smaller size. When in human form her hair is golden blonde, but retains her golden eyes. her build is still average but a bit bigger then in Kitsune form.
No matter which from she is in, she always seen in her white halter-top dress, carrying a 5 foot staff with a sapphire on top, and a jeweled necklace around her neck.

Umbear smooshed a larva as more invaded. After Markas and Umbear took some out, even more larva spewed forth to fill in the gaps.
On the north map, Guard Y42 moved 20 feet south (Y46).
"We can't let the heroes have all the fun!" she said.

Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Tears of Amber - Main
Aistriú was sort of stuck, now. There was no way they could climb over the ramparts with one arm, and they'd never learned 'Fly', relying on 'Dimension Door' instead, which was not currently an option. Aistriú wasn't even sure whether they could get around the ramparts faster by going north, or south and then west. The danthienne decided it was probably best just to stay put for now.
Spoiler: Ready ActionIf any enemies come in sight, Aistriú will cast 'Invisibility' via the danthienne spell-like ability.Spoiler: Aurora

Kestejoo saw the trouble clearly now from his vantage point and clutched the chain around his waist. He prayed to Kamus and flung his other hand out toward the blue ice demon.
Spoiler: Spellcraft DC 20Flame Strike A flame strike evokes a vertical column of divine fire. The spell deals 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 15d6). Half the damage is fire damage, but the other half results directly from divine power and is therefore not subject to being reduced by resistance to fire-based attacks.
A vertical column 40 ft high shoots up from beneath the blue devil, divine flames engulfing the beast.

The flames are instantaneous and disappear after their damage is done, allowing the Deva to strike.

Kest's flames rolled over the Ice Devil as it failed to dodge. The creature was not visibly burned by the flames.
The Deva attacked with righteous fury, but missed twice. The third hammer strike hit and struck true, giving it a nasty bruise.Last edited by EdgeGrinder; 2017-10-17 at 06:25 PM.
