V, and I'm disappointed this is even a contest. V should run away with this.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: ROY GREENHILT VS VAARSUVIUS
Ok. I need this explained.8t says the first column is votes for, second is marhin, red is losing. V has 12 votes for, margin of +3, and is black. Roy has 9 votes for, margin of -3, and is red. So, Vis up by 3 out of 21 votes. But then you say Roy is up by 3. I figure I'm misreading something here, and also in the O*-Chul/Elan thread where I have the same problem

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: ROY GREENHILT VS VAARSUVIUS
One vote for each, so no change in margin.
ROUND ROBIN GRID 1st number is Votes For, 2nd is margin,
Red is a LossVaarsuvius 36,-2 23,-3 Ongoing, 10,-3. Roy Greenhilt On-
going25,-1 Ongoing, 13,3
PeeLee: the grid is meant to be read from left to right, not top down. In other words, the row is the character, the column is their opponent.
Any ideas for a succinct explanation of that that would fit in the header?Last edited by alwaysbebatman; 2017-10-03 at 11:21 PM.

Definitely V. Sure, Roy is the heart, if not the soul of the party, but gorram if the Splice arc didn't win me over.

The one who actually has the balls to be something more than an author tract (even though we don't know if those balls are inside or outside). Go V!

Vaarsuvius gets a big surge and makes up their deficit to pull slightly ahead:

Yes, I think it's pretty rare for people to outright dislike Roy, there's just a lot of people who like Roy, but like V even more.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: ROY GREENHILT VS VAARSUVIUS
Personally, I think it is a mixture of him being the straight man a lot and the lack of flashy character development. People who like character development would vote for him over Belkar as he has had a lot better development than Belkar in my opinion but Belkar gets a lot more punch lines and jokes. Against V though Roy has troubles. V has had a much more flashy character development with serious moral and world consequences as well as gets more punclines. Though Roy does get the votes of people who like moral characters, comedy straight men and people with a more dry humor; the story and comedy are probably some of the larger factors in figuring out your favourite character.
Incidentally this is why I think V may have placed so highly in the initial votes but came 4th in this style of votes. They have good character development and punch lines so they were able to get some points from people who read the comic exclusively for the story and from people who read it exclusively for the comedy. When they faced Belkar, he had an extremely recent feels moment and he is generally the comedic relief (though I do know some people don't view him as funny). As a result he got a lot of comedy votes and a larger portion than normal of the story votes allowing him to pull ahead (I assume the moral votes were disjointed and neither are comedic straight men that often)Last edited by Hamste; 2017-10-07 at 06:00 PM.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: ROY GREENHILT VS VAARSUVIUS
How many different people have told Roy to stop talking so damn much in the middle of a fight? At least three, by my count.
Honestly, I find Roy's frequent unwillingness to listen to anyone and hear anything except what he already wants to hear to be one of the most annoying traits of anyone in the Order. (I suppose that's related to why shedding that trait is a major part of his character development that we've been seeing this book.)
