This is the sixth in a series of covering the history of my setting from creation through the present day - sometime around 4500 CA, or Current Age. This post covers some additional early recorded history known to those in the present day and is the state of Primaterra circa 600 DA, or Dark Age/Age of Darkness - the equivalent of -600 CA.

As with all of my setting posts, this is very much a WIP and any/all criticisms, questions, comments, or suggestions ARE VERY WELCOME!

Spoiler: Obsidian Keep, Uozuemon the Demon King
Show

Ouzuemon's war continued in ernest, expanding his solidified holdings and bringing forth larger and more devastating planar armies against the fledgling kingdoms that dared to oppose him. His expansion may appear small on a global scale, especially against the gains of the Mechkanans, but each move was decisive, methodical, and devastating. When Ouzuemon's war hordes to a step forward, those who opposed were forced to step back. However, the Mechkanans were found to pose a real threat to Ouzuemon's grand plans and thus his heel shifted from the throats of the Sisvar to the southern threat.

Spoiler: Sisvar - Giant zealots and their Cult leaders
Show

As the planar warbands smashed against their outer defenses, the Sisvar became more and more entrenched in their cult dogma and increasingly zealous. This behavior never allowed them to become true allies with the Mechkanans. The reprieve that the Mechkanans offered in the way of shifting Ouzuemon's attention only served to reinforce their fanatiscism

Spoiler: Istak Colonies, Formian, The Dark Mother
Show

Admittedly, there is little significant about the Istak Colonies in terms culture, economics, or even overall military strength. However, it is one of the few unified civilizations to exist in the desert region and persist for any significant amount of time. Moreover, the rise of the Formians in the interior of the continent drove the more typical goblin and orc hordes to the extremities of the continent creating a great deal of fighting among desperate bands of marauding hordes. Some point to this activity as what allowed the Hiboran's to establish in the centuries to come.

Spoiler: Saudara Empire, Drow, Cults of Harlorbb
Show

The introverted Cults of Harlorbb persisted in their dominion of the underdark through the centuries. While no longer expanding, they increasingly choked out and exterminated any opposition, organized or otherwise, anywhere close to their borders. This aggressiveness is what many attribute to the rise of the Sister's of Blight to the southeast. Despite the tight fisted rule that existed, even in this time there was an undercurrent of the Drow subjects chaffing under the rule of their cultist masters. Dogma become increasingly fractured and dogmatic, and while there was little in the way of outright contest, it was clear to many both at the time and students of the subject today that the situation was brewing a disaster.

Spoiler: Vlosanum’re Pirate Kingdoms, Drow, Savlor Daash'vek
Show

The rapid expansion of the Mechkanans on the mainland, along with their powerful military and distaste for the evil deeds of the likes of pirates, lead to a sudden retraction of the areas controlled by the Vlosanum’re. Not only was their sphere of control diminshed in their retreat, but so many pirates consolidated in a much smaller area quickly lead to a great deal of infighting and strife in the ranks, further depleting their numbers. Moreover, there was now a lack of viable targets for their raids - proximate entities were now mostly too powerful or lacking the wealth to compensate the risk.

Spoiler: Bogblight Kingdoms, Lizardfolk, Sisters of Blight
Show

A powerful Hag coven accepted a large number Lizardfolk into their employ and thus founded what is referred to as the Bogblight Kingdoms sometime in the early 330s DA. The mutually beneficial arrangement gave the relatively unsophisticated Lizardfolk the protection of the powerful coven against the massive threats plaguing the world and the Sisters of Blight received a massive buffer area within which they would have the privacy to grow their powerful craft and the command of tens of thousands of Lizardfolk raiders to scourer the region for any victims or materials the coven might need.

Spoiler: Uru'Shek, Elven, Emperor Pellgron
Show

In the centuries following its foundation, the Uru'shek swelled their ranks, realizing that war would be upon it soon - whether it be with the Mechkanans, Ouzuemon's forces, or both at once. Though they had always been a militaristic society, backed by the ever powerful Dragon Riders, evermore they transitioned to a complete Stratocracy. Their aggressive nature spelled final doom for the ancient Realm of Istronen and what was left of the wealth in their halls and mines fueled the war machine of Uru'Shek to ever greater heights.

Spoiler: Mechkanans, Gnome, King Phenris Starblade
Show

Decade by decade the Mechkanans expanded their influence taking refugees from around the continent, and indeed from around the world, into their ranks. Freedom fighters seeking to fight on the front lines against all the evil plagues of the world arrived to lay down their lives alongside the powerful Gnomish superweapons that grew more powerful and greater in number with each victory. Slowly, the expansion of both the Mechkanans and Ouzuemon's territory would bring the war to one anothers door steps rather than the proxy battles in the fields between - massively destructive battles none-the-less.
