The avatar of io epic destiny allows you to choose any of the 5 breath types when making a breath attack.
Does that mean that it's effectively the same as having the adaptive breath feat 4 times?
Can one take the breath admixture feat and mix 2 of those breaths?
Does that mean it counts as the prerquisite breath type for specific breath attack feats like frost breath or thundering breath?

Admixture Breath requires you to have the actual Adaptable Breath feat, which Avatar of Io does not grant you. However, Adaptable Breath is otherwise completely redundant when you have Breath Mastery from the ED, so I would ask a DM to let Breath Mastery count for it. As a DM that is also how I would rule it.

Yes, the Avatar of Io has a dragon breath power dealing each of those damage types, so it qualifies for Frost Breath etc.
