Default Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom

Has anybody else seen this? I just saw most of it this morning by accident on Movieplex. Very strange. A Cthulhu mythos film as an animated children's movie.
Apparently, it was based on a graphic novel of the same name. The animation was o.k. I assume they had a small budget, but they did get Jane Curtain and Christopher Plummer to do voices. It was entertaining enough to keep me watching until the end. Although, the fact that I'm currently involved in a Call of Cthulhu game helped.
My guess it was direct to dvd.

When I look it up on TV Tropes, the answer is "yes" to both of those questions.

I remember seeing something about the comics some years back, they were actually recommended too me for light reading.

    I didn't know they'd made an adaptation. Interesting. =)
