That said, it might make more sense if happy go lucky catgirl read the note and wound up ejecting one of the city's escape pods. Somewhat more probable for an ejection pod to launch during a red alert than for an explosion to launch someone and for them to land safely. And I figure that might be easier to swing with fate magic shenanigans?

Edit: so yeah, to revise: just have happy go lucky cat girl read note, punch in coordinates on note get in escape pod and crash right next to Astralys without harming her because fate shenanigans.

BTW, the more I think about it, the more I think that the Element of Magic possesses some base fate-altering abilities, especially after rewatching The Cutie Mark Chronicles and The Cutie Re-Mark. So, I'm wondering if Starlight might have consulted Shanakan on this at some point during the timeskip.

I'm sad that both kind of never really got resolution, I do NOT like leaving things unfinished. so we should figure out how we're going to resolve those, because something about both wasn't working.

I honestly didn't plan this whole part with Kurumo having to improvise a plan to frame Trombone cultists, so I'll have to figure out some way of working with this, but thats just normal roleplaying. in other news, I just watched this great wuxia flick on Crunchyroll called Thunderbolt Fantasy. its only 13 episodes, but they're really great 13 episodes. gives me lots of ideas.

Oh, did that wind up on Crunchyroll? I started watching fansubs of it some time ago, but the site I was watching on got kind of virusey so I gave up on it. I then later mistook an Overwatch Cosplayer at an Anime Convention for cosplaying Iron Bow.

In other news: I wasn't aiming for Max to throw a big wrench in the plans, he just went for the expedient way of resolving an interpersonal argument between allies: finding out the truth. Worst case scenario for Kurumo is that Max will try to talk to the cultists after they are tracked down and find out their side of the story. So depending how crazy/fight happy the cultists might be, Kurumo might see his ruse start falling apart under the scrutiny of...talking.

Of course, if all he needs is to buy time and keep people focused on something else and not looking at heaven while they get up to shenanigans up there, then it doesn't matter if the charade falls apart as long as it lasts long enough.

to be honest, I think I'm being a little ambitious with this arc, because this is more characters for an arc I've created than ever before, and I HAVE to make sure that they're all experienced in stages so that proper focus can be made playing with them rather than having it all over the place, because while yes, I get that logically Max should be able to figure out Kurumo but doing so might cause everything go so disastrously haywire that I'd have to split my attention way too much to ever give it all justice. Like this is all so that I can do this in manageable chunks so that you can enjoy it.

You could try Nightmare Parasite if you want. Kurumo is supposed to connect all this, so if you could figure out a way he could access/get in contact with the parasite to try and make a deal with them, that could work. Thats basically what he is supposed to be and do: go around making deals with or manipulate people to sic them on the Rebel Alliance as minions to fight for him in return for promises of power and whatnot. This is partly because he is smart person who makes other people fight for him when he can, partly because he used to be a general, and partly so that I can buy time to figure out what his Eastern Zodiac style actually DOES in combat. no pressure, just explaining. If you decide not to, thats ok to.

Just to be clear about my post, neither I nor Max think Yankar is actually dumb. But he is a prime example of that whole 'intensely focused on fighting martial artist that knows basically nothing else' trope. So he makes a good template to mimic, then turn down the intelligence to get, in effect, a goku-like personality. Maybe Max should mention punching them in the shnoz next...

Which is why I haven't post since Maxes last reply, since I thought I might be getting a little too ahead.

basically don't mind the Kurumo and Max stuff, your not there, so you don't need to worry about it, Starlight has pronounced Mekrashin as "decent" so nothing to worry about there.....

I'd say its about time to get the saiyans to Earth so that we can at least start reacting to that and so that Hawkflight can get Katnep to interact with Vodkana.

Oh, I misread why you hadn't been responding. I thought you had said you were trolling (griefing), instead of grieving. I think we can blame internet slang and the general English language on that one. My condolences on the cause of your grief.

And, to be clear, there's nothing stopping someone from using their own communicator to hail the saiyans while they're on their way in/in orbit/landing etc. The automated system that Max set up for 'important thing happening while he's away' just provides communication codes directly to whoever he's shoved the responsibility towards. So, if Vodkana wanted to respond directly, she could probably use her paw phone to do so, etc.

Is Ing still around? I like to imagine Arctic would get a kick out of hilariously oversized laser cannons built into a city that, to all appearances, looks like it's never moving from the spot it was built in.
