Goma rushes toward the smokey being with a familiar roar, intent on being it's focus.

AOO: Use Active Defense on Goma, once for the AOO for approaching and another for when it attacks on its turn. Use the other 3 AOOs to defend adjacent allies that might be attacked.

Rowan

Seeing the elemental appear, Rowan chuckles and chants before sending a blast of flame at it. "Air elemental? Perfect to fan my flames." Rowan chuckles as he holds Goma's haste in place as he moves to engage the elemental.

Seeing past the smoke and gouting flames, Alssariq's eyes flicker towards where the gem was thrown from and he bolts off around the wall in that direction.

I assume this is just a double move; if I see whoever threw the gem I'll Scout him with a swift.

Malak moved into position to keep the serendipity aura among the party. The Water Prince juked past the elemental and moved into a flanking position. Riq moves down to try and take a look at the source of the gem, seeing another gnoll. Goma rushed the elemental, slamming it hard with the shield, but didn't connect as firmly as it seemed it would (Elementals are immune to critical hits). Likewise, Akaash slams in with a blast of air, though not without taking a blast in response, taking 9 damage, And Rowan blasts it with fire.

The elemental began to swirl, expanding until it's a whirling tornado of force. Akaash, Goma and Rafiq are caught in the whirlwind, dealing damage to them, and the swirling debris around it is thick enough that Riq, who is caught in the middle of the it, can't see 5 feet in front of him. The gnoll sees this, laughs at your misfortune and runs off to get reinforcements.

Akaash, Goma, & Rafiq, make a DC 18 Reflex save to avoid being trapped in the tornado.

Rafe sets up a parrying/ deflection series of movements and tumbles, and then tries to get away from the elemental. He makes a beeline for where he last saw the suspicious person that tossed the thing that made the Thing that is whipping around my buddies (and their things).

'Riq does his bes to get out of the tornado and heads southeast, finially able to see outside of the swirling winds. Akaash and Goma did there best to slay the beast from within, but to no avail, and the Water Prince managed to exit the just in time for the gnoll backup to arrive.

They in turn arrive just in time to see Rowan's pyrokinetic display burn the beast out, leaving only hot air in its wake. They are... less than thrilled to see their trump card dealt with.

Move 30' down and over one square, so that K-M is now due north of that first door on the right of that set of double doors that are easternmost ... 10' behind Rafe.

Rafe will act as a second-line scout. Riq seems better suited, but having the party too close to Riq to follow will be counter to his needs. So, Rafe will be the stealthy go-between.

Goma checks the small rooms in the area, starting with the one next to H4. If there isn't anything of interest, he leaves the door ajar and proceeds to check the door directly south of it.

Akaash stay just a step behind Rafe, gliding over the ground.

Alssariq will step softly from room to room, starting with the one closest to him, and give a quick look around before moving on.

Rowan

Rowan keeps to the main room as the others spread out to search. He stops the haste effect on Goma for the moment and relaxes while keeping an eye out for any more enemies.

There's not much to find over here; the doors marked H3 were barracs for the gnolls, but there aren't any in there at the moment. in the northern room marked H4 there is nothing of note other than smashed statues and a pool of stagnant water. There is also a passageway to the north clogged with debris; it'd take several hours to clear it. Finally, there is a doorway to the west than seems impenetrable.

Anything else to do before you head back to the central room?

"Be nice to know what was beyond that door, but I think we lack the resources to breach it in a timely fashion at present." He frowns, "I suppose we head back to the main room and try another route."

Rafe blinks. For a brief moment, he thought he saw "Railroad: Do Not Cross" on the door, but when he clears his eyes, he realizes he is mistaken. Worried that he might be getting tired he says, "We should call it a day."

The party looked over their wounds and their supplies and decided that falling back with the troglodites. The trogs generally leave you alone, but you manage to get a good night's sleep and heal yourselves up before heading out again.

You feel reinvigorated from your night's rest. In fact you feel more powerful than before! You guys are now 6th level! Tell me your changes in the OOC.

You head back down and see, at the far end of the main room, Lark. She's clearly upset as there is evidence of recent tears. She looks up at the party, but most especially Goma and says "You don't have to do this. Head back now and leave this lands and the Carrion King will let you live."

Goma looks surprised. "Tenderloin, what are you doing here? Has something happened?"

He tenses, "Has someone threatened you?"

Does Lark smell right? I can't help but try to disbelieve the illusion here.

Lark inhales, her breath shuddering slightly. "I-I'm fine." She says quickly, though she has to yell a bit for you to hear her clearly. "Seriously, The Carrion King is willing to offer you mercy. Take it, please."

Rowan

All sorts of bad feelings well up in Rowan's gut when Lark appears to talk them down. It's never a happy time to see a friend's paramour used to ill ends, but Rowan is also perturbed by what this signifies. The Carrion King knows who they are, and that they were the ones responsible for the attacks the other day. Why let them live? He could have easily ordered their deaths as they slept, was this arrogance or something far more sinister?

Tightening his grasp on his staff, Rowan recalls his own love and his resolve hardens. No matter what Lark may say, and even if Goma wants to surrender, Rowan will not let this Carrion Clown live to threaten his family.

"If he seeks to bargain it is either a trap or a sign of weakness. Either way, we must ignore it." He focuses on Goma, "Tread carefully friend, something strange is about."

Goma gives a slight nod to Akaash without taking his eyes off of Lark. He strides toward her and takes her hand in his.
"You're not making sense dearest. There's no way a beast like the Carrion King would honor a deal with me and you know there's no way I could ever bargin with him."

"The Lark I know would stand by my side and fight. She'd eat the cur's heart and ask for seconds. So I'll ask again: What's going on?"

Rafe, admittedly thrown by this interspecies melodrama, holds his tongue.
