Right after waking Blastigar casts mending on Big bang.
After hearing the children blastigar pulls everyone aside.
"I think our plans may be delayed. These little ones need care. Rose said something about the horned man and her ma and pa never left. Maybe they are still around. We should pull her aside to get more info I think.
I think the children could stay up here and be safe. I think we could give them some food. I think we will survive. We could take them with us but that would be even more dangerous and I don't even like the prospect of us going. Maybe we could head back to wildrun with the kids? Whatever the we decide I think the truth will cause quite some distress so I think it best we avoid that."

Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
Caeleth digs in her pack and takes out a few rations to divvy up among the girls. "We are not leaving them here alone, and we're certainly not turning tail and running." She pulls Blastigar aside, out of earshot of the kids. "We have a duty to the guild, and I will not be slinking back home in fear before our work is done. Look, we need to get the girls back to their family, we need more information, and most importantly, we need a safe place to come up with our next move. Oshawan Falls fills all those requirements, and if we push hard enough, I think we can make it before nightfall."

The children eat the food stuffs quickly, frowning at the taste at first, but clearly hunger overrides preference. They continue to look at the party expectantly.
"Can we go home?" Violet asks with a mouthful of food.
Rose tries to shush her cousin, seeing that their potential protection is discussing something important.

Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
Chapel yawns, stretching, before joining the sidebar with Caeleth and Blastigar, in the lowest possible whisper.
"I do not like the idea of leaving the fate of their parents unknown. I suppose there is the slimmest chance they could even be in peril. But..."
He sighs, running his hand through his beard, his eyes distant. Still in a low whisper.
"Even knowing better, the nature of their fate could serve to prepare us for the dangers we face on the road ahead. I have no desire to dawdle, but daylight is burning, and I do not relish the idea of coming under attack from... whatever did this, in full dark, with these precious wee ones in tow."Last edited by ChapelCanaan; 2017-11-23 at 11:34 PM.

Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
After some conversation and debate, Caeleth takes the lead and encourages the group to push for Oshawan falls. The girls seem relieved that they will be escorted to there family there.
Rose and Lilly look longingly at their home as they walk by, but the nervous tension of the party and the long few days they have been through is keeping them quiet and free from complaint.
The bags under Stephanie's eyes are pronounced, as the 2 full days of no sleep are clearly wearing on her. As before the farm is almost unnaturally quiet.
Leaving the fenced runes of the farmland, you becoming keenly aware of just how unwell the first looks. From a desert it was a relief, but from a lush and healthy farm, and the lush magicciaclly imbued great trees you slept in last night, the forest is clearly sick.
Marching on for 2 hours, Dusk is in full onset, and the darkness of the forest canopy is starting to come in. It is then that you hear the sounds of the wolves you heard in the previous night, but instead of north and west, they sound to be coming from roughly where the farm you left was situated.
What is the marching order, and what do you do? Please include the children in the marching order.

Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
Spoiler: Stephanieyou have advantage on glasses and disadvantage from exhaustion. These cancel out.
As Stephanie concentrates on the noises from the wolves over the next few minutes, she can tell they are rapidly gaining on them. While the party has been keeping a brisk walking pace, you have 3 small children with you slowing you down. Based on what they said about distances, you probably would have made it to Oshawan falls by now if not for them.
Based on a basic idea of travel times, general knowledge from the party, etc. you know you are close to Oshawan Falls, but from the sounds of the wolves, they will be on you before you make it to the village... if they are indeed after you at all.
Additionally, you start to notice that strange fog rolling in from the mountains toward you throughout the forest.

Guys. The wolves are gaining! Stephanie reports the odd stumble from fatigue jarring her. She'd be slowing the group down, but thankfully the kids are slowing them more. They probably should have been carried.
And that fog's back... We need to get the children above it, or book it to the village. She warns.Avatar by Honest Tiefling

Caeleth casts a worried glance in the direction of the howls. "I'm going to try and scare them off - this is going to be loud." She preemptively shushes the girls before closing her eyes and using thaumaturgy to create a bloodcurdling roar that emanates from the center of the group. Before the sound even fades away completely, she scoops the nearest kid up onto her shoulders. "Alright, let's go."

Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
The sounds of the continual howling of the wolves stops for a moment. After picking up the girls and running, another minute, the howling resumes. It sound so like there may be less of them, but the howling continues.
After a few more minutes of running, the sounds of the wolves is significantly closer. Based on the sounds, they will be on you in a few moments.
While you are running, you continue to pass by rune after rune. The fog pools around your ankles, but seems to ignore you. It seems as though fingered reach out to attack the runes, but as it strikes it burns away. Caeleth (and anyone with a passive perception above 12) notice that the fog is not able to approach around Caeleth the same way it does with the runes.

In quick motion, Blastigar wraps his gun around his back, and nimbly climbs up a tree to the east of path, in a few moments, ties a rope on a branch about 20 feet up for the children to climb up.
Unlimbers his gun, he sets his sites towards the sounds of the howling, which sounds even closer. It will be only moments until the wolves are upon you.
The fog continues to ignore the party, but swirls around Caeleths feet, slowly irising around her.
Spoiler: Timingyou have about 30 seconds before Those with night vision will be able to see the wolves.

Chapel stops at the back of the group, turning to face the direction of their potential pursuers. He quickly wields his glaive, marking a line in the dirt path at the outer edge of his reach before assuming a ready stance, seeming for all intents a boulder that had weathered the eons in that precise spot.
"Stay behind me. Deal with any that get past. And that fog seems a little too interested in our Caeleth... I have a feeling these beasts may be as well. Protect her and the children, whatever the cost."Last edited by ChapelCanaan; 2017-11-25 at 05:32 PM.

Caeleth herds the girls over to the tree that Blastigar climbed. "Climb up as high as you can. Blast, take care of them!" As soon as the kids are reasonably safe, she takes a stand next to Chapel, preparing to run forward and unleash a thunderwave at the first sign of wolves.

Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
As the party readies themelsves for combat, those with dark vision see the first vestiages of the wolves.
1 horse size wolf with a stunted muzzle, a bridle and saddle, with something riding it that could easily be Blastigar brother.
There are multiple wolves flanking it, and they look like normal wolves, but seemingly passive and respond immediately to some unseen force.
Lastly, you see what can only be described as a wingless dragon (drake) that looks to have been fused with a monkey or baboon of sorts. It has grotesque features and curling horns on its head. It has powerful limbs and seems to be drooling some viscous liquid. This massive creature overshadows the large wolf and rider, and On its back is a hooded figure.
http://rlyonsart.blogspot.kr/2015/02...e-designs.html See the second image.
They slam to a stop as soon as you come into view. With a gesture from the masked figure, the wolves splay out, heading into the woods, while growling at you. The large wolf with goblin on its back starts to move forward, with 2 wolves starting to approach at a slow walk, and then a run.
With a howl of goblin and wolf merging together, others answer in the distance.

Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
Blastigar lines up his first shot, and pierces the large wolf in the shoulder. The wolfs gate stutters for a moment and then continues charging forward.
Blastigar manages to reload with lightning speed, but in doing so takes a little less time to aim, and JUST misses the large wolf.
The large wolf and goblin, and the 2 wolves are now on the party. All of you can hear more in the woods. It sounds as if they are flanking you. (They used there full turn to cover the distance, and are now on the party.) The massive creature (considered huge) seems to want to join the fight, but the rider seems intent on watching the battle for now.Spoiler: Checksif you would like you can make perception/insight checks without loosing any actions in combat, as they wolves were still rushing you.

Rurik flies into a rage at seeing his companions being attacked. Closing the distance on the nearest wolf (Worg is dead already) he swings a mighty blow at it. "Stupid tree branch."
With trembling arms Blastigar reloads "Big Boom" with a ball that seems to have eyes and teeth maybe even fur.
He steadies "Big Boom" between a few branches like a bipod and adjust his body taking careful aim at another wolf. He pulls his headband with googles over his eyes. He fires another shot. Re: Wildrun: Growing Turmoil
Blastigars shot slams into the wolf that had not been knocked down by Caeleth's Thunder wave. The shot catches the wolf right between the eyes and collapses to the ground, just as it is landing from dodging the hammerblow from Rurik.
The last wolf gets to its feet after being slammed back 10 feet towards the woods, looks really rough. Blood dribbles from its maw and it seems to limp. It almost looks as thought it wishes to run, but instead throws itself at Chappel, who is nearest to it.
