Default Good name for this type of robot?

What's a good name for a squishy, soft amorphous elongated blob robot that is designed to play with small children?

Of course you might run into copyright issues if you're looking to publish...

Wow - a question that actually makes sense (of a sort)!

I would think whatever marketing term the producers come up with as appropriate for the culture and language it is being marketed to - so different names in different places.

For the English-speaking western Europe/North America/antipodean market I think lots of names could work, but I would go with "Barry" (no reason though).
If you want a name for the "type" of robot, then a "childminder robot" would seem appropriate.

    The CrecheJacket.

    ... maybe I shouldn't name things.

If we go with the default style of "modern" brand naming, PlayBot should do it. Or PlaySafe. Or another amalgam of words from a pool of "Play, Safe, Child, Care" etc.

Individual name, brand name or generic term?

    Generic is always safest.

Actually I love Khederac's thing. It should be nondescript.

That's not a robot, it's a snake, and you shouldn't let it play with your kids.

Another word I would use for robots designed to play with children is "creepy". Especially if it follows the pattern of current attempts, which involves sending everything the child says to a cloud server, and having poor computer security.
