Armor of Shared Valor
Armor of Shared Valor is an uncommon magical enhancement to Chain and leather armor. Its property is:
When you use a power that grants an ally a bonus to any defense, you gain an equal bonus of the same type to the same defense. The bonus lasts until the power's effect ends or until the end of your next turn.
i.e.: If a power's effect lasts until the end of encounter, would the bonus from the armor last until the end of encounter or until EONT?
If a power's effect lasts until someone hits the buffed ally, and someone does hit before the end of your next turn, would the bonus from the armor end or would it last until EONT?
• Also, if the user uses a power that gives +2 [untyped] bonus to AC to himself and to an ally. Would him effectively gain a +4 bonus?Last edited by Marcloure; 2017-12-01 at 12:03 PM.

Re: Armor of Shared Valor
The bonus from AoSV lasts until the end of your next turn unless the other effect ends earlier. If you use a power that lasts until the end of the encounter, you get the bonus for one turn. If it lasts until the ally gets hit, the effect ends early if someone hits your ally.
The intention of the armor is that it shouldn't stack with the triggering ability (which is why it is of the same type as the triggering power). By a strict reading, however, the armor is the source of the bonus, rather than the power, so technically it would stack if the bonus was untyped. The intention though is clearly that the armor enhances the power by making it also affect you, which would thus not stack with itself.

Re: Armor of Shared Valor
I think that is right:
> Armor bonus ends if: [power's effect ends] or [your next turn ends].
So, whichever turns true first ends the power.
The intention of the armor is that it shouldn't stack with the triggering ability (which is why it is of the same type as the triggering power). By a strict reading, however, the armor is the source of the bonus, rather than the power, so technically it would stack if the bonus was untyped. Thank you.

Re: Armor of Shared Valor
The wording for untyped bonuses should have read "an untyped bonus has the type of the game element in which it is defined. So if a feature 'Warlord's Spirit' grants an untyped +3 bonus to AC, then the type of that bonus is 'Warlord's Spirit' for the purpose of bonus stacking".
That handles corner cases better than the wording they provided us for untyped bonuses.
