Sarah's bullet strikes the griffon. Alexei's arrow is off target. The griffon spots easier prey on the road to the north, no more than 100 meters from your current position. A lone rider on a dark horse has paused in the middle of the road. The griffon flies with purpose toward the pair.

Yrsa, Baolo, and Cormac may still attack. End rounds. (If the griffon still lives.)

Heading north, down the thawing slope, in pursuit of the griffon, you see that the winged tyrant has dislodged the rider from its mount. The griffon is attempting to drag the horse off of the dirt road and into the taller grasses further north.

As you arrive on the scene, the rider, a middle-aged male half-orc dressed in leather armor, lies unconscious upon the road. The griffon now feasts upon the horse, staring you down as you approach.

Alexei stops to check on the fallen rider. Unable to determine the extent of his injuries, Alexei heals. The rider slowly gains consciousness. Still prone, he speaks to Alexei, That griffon... it came out of nowhere. I am Pax, Pax Bosch. I am on my way to the Fort. Is my horse about?

Sarah's attempt at tossing alchemical fire is...unfortunate. Cormac's musket ball strikes the griffon and once Ysra and SCK arrive at the beast's position, the fight is over rather quickly in their favor. The griffon is dead and so is its meal. You notice two large saddlebags and other items that the half-orc's horse was carrying. One box packed with a number of smithing tools was smashed under the griffon's talon.

    What is your next goal?

The creature falling before Baolo could let go of the reins to attack, Baolo draws the cart to a halt once more as he looked over the carcass. Then, spitting off to the side of the road to get the dirt out of his mouth, the brigand follows up with, "Dunno 'bout hauling the whole carcass onto the wagon, but we can probably make space for the head." Indeed, Baolo's eyes seemed to gleam for a bit as he thought of the coin that could be had for getting the griffon head back tot he fort. After speaking however, the shaggy man turns his eyes to the horizon, keeping watch as the others spoke with the half orc.

Pax is gracious and pleased to meet the group. He explains that Lady Dahlia had posted interest in the area for a blacksmith. He was answering that need for employment. Pax helps with the griffon.

Clean in some areas, bloody, feathered, and covered in hair in others the group is able to load the best parts of the beast into its two wagons. Reaching the Fort an hour-or-so later, the gates are wide open as construction is underway to add a second story to both guest houses. This would increase guest capacity from eight to sixteen. Dahlia dutifully overseas this construction as Egg stands nearby pointing out various things and whispering his thoughts to Dahlia.

Svetlana notices your wagons and walks briskly to welcome you back, So, you survived your first outing in the Greenbelt. Oh wow! And you took down a griffon! ... I can also tell that you need baths and a change of clothes. The guesthouses are getting another level but the current rooms are still useable.

    What do you do?
