Default Order of the stick in the 5th edition

What do you think order of the stick would be like if based if 5th edition?

Would Roy have taken something like 'Magic initiate' or 'ritual caster' feats to appease/ annoy his father?

Would Belkar have the gourmand feat?

Would the comic be significantly different?

    Has anyone already posted this?

The fan base would go insane, immediately disbelieve everything Rich has ever said about OotS, ever, and than never trust him again. The forum seas would run red with the blood of old arguments sarted up again now that word of giant can’t be trusted and the floodgates open for thre Miko fan base, dwindling as it is, heralding her return. Thousands of Posters succumb to the winds of bad theory’s, and the forums are abandoned as everyone else tries to find internet shelter.

Ah, didn't see that other thread, apparently I need to work on my search skills. But then again that was quite a few months ago some might be the realms of thread-romancy .

Oh, certainly. I'm not saying that you should've known about it. I'm only answering your last question ("Has anyone already posted this?"). Sorry, should've quoted it.

Off the top of my head, the changes between edition that might affect the story are.
    * Cantrips: The Bandit sorcerer wouldn't have run out of magic after her duel with V, meaning she might still have been able to challenge her father for leadership of the group.
    * Feat based magic: Roy, Belkar and Harley would have the potential to learn arcane or divine magic without changing class. Magic Initiate has no requirements and ritual caster requires only 13 intelligence or wisdom.
    * Jack of all trades feature would mean Elan would be semi competent at many things.

Bounded accuracy would mean that the entire order would at most be semi competent at anything

As pointed out in the other thread, it would be hard in 5E for a top-level lich or evil cleric to pose that much of a threat. Certainly neither of them would have stood a chance against the Azure Army; it's an explicit design principle of 5E that large amounts of low-level mooks can and will take down a much higher level opponent. Conversely, the Order would have been slaughtered by Tarquin's mooks.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Belkar and Miko had a neat little "road runner/wylie coyote" gag going that I rather enjoyed.

    .
If not earlier by the Hobgoblins attacking Azure City, Rich could have just ruled that none of the Hobgoblins "rolled" well, but it would strain credibility more for the Belkster to have singlehandidly slain so many.
