    Default Mid Level Aquatic Game (3.5 or 3.P)

    Lately I've had a hankerin' for some undersea adventures. I'd be looking to play probably as a merfolk or an aquatic elf (or maybe an undine) using this monk fix.

    Ideally I'd like to start somewhere around the middle of the level range (9-12), and I much prefer point buy to rolling for stats (in home games my group generally uses 36 points, but I recognize that's kinda high for some folks). Other than that I'm pretty much open to whatever ideas and DM inclined to take on this game is using.

    I know Pathfinder has a lot of Aquatic races now in their expanded material.

    I'm up for a 3.5 game. Stormwrack has a LA +0 aquatic template.

    Next up, an aquatic desert kobold

    I'm interested. by aquatic do you mean ships or completely underwater or a mix? Heres hoping I can find a good Piraty class. Will pistols be allowed?

    I was thinking completely (or at least the vast majority of adventures would be) underwater, so gunpowder might be an issue even if the DM allows pistols.

    Yes! Finally aquatic game. I would love to play!

    If it's Pathfinder I would probably try getting animal companion since I really like how they are handled in Pathfinder.

    If it's 3.5e then there are many more options. Nixie sourcer is first that comes to mind.
    I color is green, no I blue. Ok, ok, I think color. not sure now to call it

    I'll ask the DM if I can use Harpoons instead. (I'll fluff them as them being shot out a harpooning gun like whalers used. Mechanically the same though.)
    Requests for when a DM comes around:
    Items:
    Harpoon
    Cutlass

    Classes:
    Warlord if not then the Pirate
    And Most importantly
    Dread Pirate (pretty much all of my levels will be in this. I can't post a link because of the free game thing but it's on Dnd tools and its from complete adventurer.)

    Not usually interested in high or even mid level games, but this looks interesting enough that I'll throw my hat in as a player all the same. I'd propose 3.P/system mixing, within reason, since it looks like everyone's just about split on that issue. Thinking crab or carp hengeyokai so far. If Pathfinder material ends up allowed, however, I might go with an undine or gillman, just because I really love having the option of alternate racial traits.
    DontEvenAsk, no apostrophe. I play D&D 3.X/PF. Life has a tendency to spring surprise problems on me, leading to temporary ghosting that I usually can't predict. If I vanish, I'm probably not dropping out if your game, just swamped.

    My campaign setting. Please look, don't touch for now.

    Potential interest, pending DM. I'd prefer to use a homebrew class (currently looking at something from Codices of Spellshaping) if at all possible.

    Currently thinking of a "spirit of water" type character, though finalization will have to wait on world info.

    On second thought, I'm really leaning undine or gillman, probably Magus, Kineticist, or Swordsage... since if I'm reading the entry correctly hengeyokai can only breathe underwater in animal form and unless I'm mistaken they can't speak in animal form, which might cause some Issues in a party.

    I've once started a pirate game but it ended dying rather quick due some trouble of what is okay for a pirate do and some (I admit) really bad jokes. That said... Maybe... I can try and DM this. It wont be 100% aquatic, but it will have undersea adventures, ship fighting and ransacking the coastal realms.

    On homebrew requests, I would need to take time and read through them (but I'm busy with graduation for the next two weeks - which would give time to build characters etc). I would prefer to make it a fast paced game (at least a post a day) and probably a discord channel to make ooc questions easier and faster to get responded.

    The general idea of the game would be a sandbox (with lots of water inside) where the players are pirates competing for the title of Pirate King. It would be based on an old solo-adventure book I've read/played a long time ago: some kind of sea race where you needed to reach the final destination and get as much loot as you could. The captain who get there in time and with more treasure get the title.

    How that sounds?

    Would this be PvP then, with each player a different captain, or would this be players are one crew?

    Everyone on the same crew. You might try and punch/challenge the captain to become captain yourself, but the former captain would be part of the crew then.

    A captain gain:
    • a tricorn hat;
    • headache for dealing with a bunch of cretins;
    • a ragtag band of scurvy dogs;

    Big 16 would be great to get an idea of which of the two to play on. Pathfinder or 3.5 both had similar but different systems.

    I will admit Pathfinder has more straight up aquatic playable races as opposed to races that are able to play in water.
