Purely because i do not want both of the vermin species. I'm voting for the gnomes.

    1) This is a runway vote so magic
    2) Eeslorinch, and a meaningless Adish vote.

Choice 1 : I think Speechcraft makes the most sense, as well as Underground Survival.
Choice2: Stealth. Let's face it someone that needs to keep something safe should probably have a way of keeping it safe by hiding it at the very least.

Stealth is one of your skills picked.

Animal Handling & Notice are so close that I'm going to have a vote-off of just those two.

Also to be honest I can't think of a specialty for Improvised Weapons. Which leaves us tied for Wilderness Survival & Thrown Weapons.

Also also, are you guys absolutely sure you want the probably shooting yourselves in the foot combo of Improvised Weapons and not speaking any languages for creatures that have towns/cities in the way we think of them?

    Choice 1: Skill
    1A) Animal Handling
    1B) Notice

    Choice 2: Specialty
    2A) Wilderness Survival
    2B) Thrown Weapons
    2C) Randomly chosen skill

Choice 3: Fine with Improvised Weapons/Languages as is?
    3A) Yes.
3B) No, we should drop Improvised Weapons and choose a different weapon skill.
3C) No, we should choose Adish or Ulati instead of one of the languages we have.
    3D) No, we should do both B & C.

    1. Skill:Animal Handling(it doesn't matter what weapons we have if we have an army backing us.)
    2. Specialty: but just in case we should go for thrown weapons.
    3. Changing Tides :A and as a result this doesn't matter that much.

I don't know if this was serious or not, but animal handling isn't going to let you train animals to behave in ways completely impossible for them. At least not without some other thing occurring to make it possible.
It's not meant as a "have dozens of attack animals" skill.

If that knowledge effects your feelings on your votes, go ahead and edit them.

There is still plenty animals can do for us including attacking. As attack dogs, war elephants, and others are a thing. Is that right? Of course the original comment was a complete joke. I still have to defend it. There are many applications of animals that makes it seem like the best way for us to go forward with our current skills. Of course I'm intelligent, but don't know everything so tell me if i'm wrong. This may take time, but we are dryads connected to trees we could probably handle it.

It would certainly normally take time to train animals that can even be trained.
My thinking was that if you actually previously believed you were likely to end up with a hoard of attack animals that you might wind up reconsidering your stance on having a different weapon skill once you were told that wasn't likely, since that was used as part of your justification for keeping everything as is.
(Side note: Good luck getting dogs if you can't speak to humans and halflings.)

That wouldn't be required though. We as humans domesticated wolves. They were are hunting companions, as a Dryad more connected to nature a wolf could be used in a similar situation. Not to mention we have tamed foxes, zebra, and elephants none of which we have really ever domesticated. Heck bears are even on the table just by looking at us which was straight up used in warfare recently.(around world war 2.) But i feel like i shouldn't oppose what your saying so All i'm saying is that the fact of the matter is our current skills suck, and i want to respect people's votes, and instead try and make it work. We can't throw objects forever, and pretty much all improvised weapons would do nothing against Armour, or chitin. Now this can be mitigated with animal handling I never wanted it to come to this point, but I have a feeling we can't do much else on a reliable basis. Animal handling as in taming and utilizing animals would be a really effective strategy considering a viewpoint of wanting to change as little as possible. This of course seems to be the opposite of your view point. AS your the Game Master i will admit my defeat.

What large groups of people with years of time based on the centuries of research done in the past and modern day knowledge can do and what a single dryad will be able to do in a few days or weeks are not at all similar things.
You also can't just make dogs out of wolves in a person's lifetime. You would still need to have access to dogs.
Training a wolf is theoretically possible. Getting eaten by a wolf is more possible.
As a dryad you don't have any notably special connection to animals, especially predators. You might feel a stronger connection to nature, but animals are animals and you're just another animal to most of them. (Though bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds might be assaulting your hair on occasion.)
That said I'm not going to be hyper realistic about it, but having combat pets is not the main point of the skill so again I state that you should not go into the game expecting that as a main avenue of handling combat situations.

If you're aware of the fact that Improvised Weapons isn't a solid choice (like I warned right from the start), I suggest voting the way you want to vote and not voting to please other people.
Also not sure how good most animals would do against armored foes either. I mean... maybe a bear or elephant yeah. But even a wolf isn't the most effective opponent for a guy in armor or a man-sized thing with chitin.

I will note, I'm not really attempting to change your mind. I'm just giving you information.
