I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
I'm a long time fan of the comic, so I decided to try something.
Thoughts?

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
Looks good, different style but faithful at the same time. Way better than any I ever did surely.
A few remarks on some of those little details you tend to miss when making these things pixel by pixel and only notice a month later seeing the result for the 20th time. None of this is something that needs to change, just stuff you could look at to see if you notice the same things:
The hilt of Roy's sword is very short and somewhat wide.
The white spaces between Roy's hands and pants look, well, like little white spaces. This will look better on a background, but it might already look better without the black pixels reaching out at the height where his shirt stops. (I love how you avoided this issue with Xykon, looks good.) (The white pixel between sword and head does not bother me at all, at worst it might end up disappearing if it turns out to be needed to bring the hand guard a pixel closer to Roy's shoulder if the hilt ends up longer.)
I like the upper edge of Roy's boots a lot, but the tips of the boots look a little like they might be split open. I think that's because the inside soles have a downward curve in them. If his soles followed more of a straight line (not super realistic in itself maybe) the boots might look a tad more natural.
Xykon's crown is slanted, but honestly it looks like you already thought hard about it and picked the best solution. You could try using the bottom stripe of the right "lightning bolt" as its upper stripe, but that would probably look slanted the other way. And more space between the bolts would probably just look weird.
Maybe make the widest part of the skull a bit taller, like have one pixel below it also on the widest position. I'm not sure if it would still look as evil though...
The shading patterns are nice as well, the only thing I might think about changing there are the slightly suggestive (if you look at it way too long) pattern just above Xykon's belt. And maybe deblackify the creases under his armpits.
I am undecided on whether I want to comment on the single black pixel sticking out from under Roy's pauldrons, which means it's probably time for me to stop looking for faults in this.

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
Thanks for the indepth feedback.
I get that the sprites aren't perfect, and I'll try to avoid those issues in future sprites (Comment to tell me who you want me to do next)
That level of in-depth criticism is fine, really, it helps.

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
Could you do Belkar? Also, could you do Miko and Miko (Fallen)?
Oh, and these are really good. One edit I might make is to change Xykon's nose to be two dots with a dot in between.Last edited by Personification; 2018-01-17 at 11:50 AM.
Stop using good evidence and logic that makes sense to refute points, that's my job

Miko and Belkar.
Not sure if they turned out as well as the last two.

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
The Mikos are pretty good, for Belkar I would thin out the head hair and add in foot hair.

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
I would change either fallen Miko's armour to be darker or original Miko's armour to be bluer, or make the cloak wider. At the moment it's hard to see the difference without looking down at her feet.

Sprite art isn't really my forte, but I quite like these.

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
The ears look a bit off, because of being semi-hidden by the hair and semi-visible. I'd choose one or the other, because at the moment, they don't look like ears.

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
I'd would have made one of Roys boots slightly smaller than the other lol

Re: I attempted to sprite Roy and Xykon
Can you do Durkon, Elan, and Haley? That way, we'd have the whole OOTS!
