Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
The end of what Son? The story? There is no end. There's just the point where the storytellers stop talking.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
I thought it was okay. It suggests that Marigold is more self-aware than her nerdy, proverbial "30 year old virgin" persona originally suggested, and I liked seeing her thinking candidly of something other than video games or being socially awkward. It required a certain amount of confidence that I don't think I've seen of her before

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
Nah, sorry. I might have sounded a bit more unhappy than I am. I'm fine with most of the comic, just the punchline isn't new. If I wanted to be harsh I could read it as Dale only caring for Marigold's melons, but that is clearly not what was meant.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
Marigold is looking very rabbit-ish in the new art style, in my opinion.
And, well, I guess it's good that she's happy to flaunt her knockers rather than be embarrassed.i am going to make it through this year

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
The way I see it, the point here isn't the repeating joke – it's not a joke for the audience's benefit anymore, it's to establish that Dale and Marigold get each other. "You wouldn't rather have an orange" is not necessarily intuitively understood as an "apples-to-oranges" metaphor.

Not really a fan of the every-changing art styles in general, or of Marigold Rabbit in particular.
It is one thing to suspend your disbelief. It is another thing entirely to hang it by the neck until dead.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
It looked to me like some sort of Tai Chi-esque exercises? I think that would be a nice twist; May isn't just a sociopath who sits around playing with knives all day, but is taking an actual interest in martial arts or some kind of meditation exercises, now that she has a body to appreciate such things.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
What a beautiful language...
Also, somehow today makes me really angry at Pintsize. I can't quite say why I consider trolling and wasting the time of a total stranger worse than if he does it to his "friends" buy somehow this seems for more evil than just a bad kind of humor. Maybe I'm taking it to serious.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
I'm trying to understand what the joke is. Is there any intended humor apart from "Pintsize brought a toaster to a date and is randomly firing it at her"?
It's more mean-spirited than he normally is and isn't particularly funny either. This being a Patreon filler comic may be to blame.

Yeah, this just seems pointlessly mean, even for him. He usually only does it with people in his circle who know him and can fight back.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
I'm trying to decide if there is an innuendo at work here. Something about "shooting toast" maybe? "Firing breakfast"? Urban dictionary says that "toast" is either slang for a reposted image, or for guns, or a reference to the Soggy Biscuit game, but I don't see how any of that applies to a blind date....

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
That's not Roko, is it? It's just close enough that with the shifting art style (ugh, stop) it might be her, but I didn't see it until you said something.
Either way, there is literally nothing funny or entertaining about today's comic. It is one thing to suspend your disbelief. It is another thing entirely to hang it by the neck until dead.

The text below says it was a filler comic from Patreon while he deals with a back injury.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
I can't tell if it's Roko or not... And while shooting toast at someone is... odd... let us not forget, this is Pintsize. Toasting is MILES ahead of what he could be doing.
Hear hear. I hope he recovers soon. Perhaps he should put the strip on hiatus until he does, trying to be productive when all you want to do is scream in pain is a bit hard... I hope being at the ECCC, if that's still on, doesn't make it worse.

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
That's just Roko with a different hairdo and some... Is that eyeliner? Do AIs wear make-up? Anyway, a cue that it's her: knitting.
I found that comic not hilarious, but sort-of-funny in a typical Pintsize way: This absurd+offensive combination pretty much sums him up.DM in Mummy's Mask I, II, III | Keshkaru and Ozkrak in Extinction Curse | Marzena in Age of Worms | Elrembriel in Wrath of the Righteous | Gurmok in Nightmare in Katapesh | DM in Catacombs of Ravenloft Avatar courtesy of Neoseph7

Re: Questionable Content 12: Artificial Unintelligence
Same. It's a mild "crosses the line twice" humour: initially offensive, because Pintsize is being an ass, and then funny, when it turns out that Roko has been putting up with it (rather than walking out after the first toast hit her) because it turns out to be merely the second-worst date she has ever had.
Not the best joke ever, but also not entirely unfunny. At least prior to explaining the joke, of course.
