Other than that, you haven't missed anything. I suspect he rages without any visible physical signs, and correspondingly that he rages often, whenever a battle is or seems likely to be tough.

There is also the fact that when Thog rages, he is really, genuinely, angry. It doesn't seem only a tactical choice, but a state of mind. Belkar enjoy killing the enemy, but he never had a real reason to rage.

Belkar got angry when Buggy Lou threatened Mr. Scruffy in #685 and when a soldier taunted him about his relationship with Mr. Scruffy in #781. He might have raged off-panel at those times.
