Re: Iron Poet II
That's it. Both of you go sit in the corner until your brains start working properly.
Honestly, children...

Re: Iron Poet II
I believe it might be a good idea to put out a more specialized call for writers. If anyone knows someone who might be interested in this type of competition, why not drop them a line?

Re: Iron Poet II
Hmm...I dunno. We can run it with eight and perhaps we'll have fewer drop-outs this time if we do.

Re: Iron Poet II
Yah, with one more judge we can start this. I'd prefer 16 players, but what can you do?
Also, if we get another contestant instead of a judge, would anyone be willing to switch to judging? If not, then we are closed to new participant applications at this point.
Also, if you have any ideas for the contest (subject wise) send me a PM with the ideas. It'd help a lot.“Sometimes, immersed in his books, there would come to him
the awareness of all that he did not know, of all that he had not read;
and the serenity for which he labored was shattered as he realized the
little time he had in life to read so much, to learn what he had to know.”

Re: Iron Poet II
I'm sorry, we're closed. We need one more judge, or 8 more contestants.

Re: Iron Poet II
Potential solution:
Keep recruitment open for a couple more days. Those of you currently not in our original eight, you have this time to find people 6 more people who would be interested in joining. If you can find them and bring our number to 16, then hooray for all! If not, I'll be sure to PM you when the next contest starts so you don't miss it again.
Sound fair to everyone?

Re: Iron Poet II
That's what I was thinking. I'll keep it open until Wednesday or Thursday.
Maybe people who haven't gotten in yet could PM the old contestants and see if they want to play again?“Sometimes, immersed in his books, there would come to him
the awareness of all that he did not know, of all that he had not read;
and the serenity for which he labored was shattered as he realized the
little time he had in life to read so much, to learn what he had to know.”

Re: Iron Poet II
Of course, but it's in your best interest to spread the word about the competition quickly. We need 5 more people by Thursday, or else we'll be dropping back down to the original 8.
Go! Proselytize!

Re: Iron Poet II
It does seem unlikely. It's also past the deadline...
To those of you who expressed interest in this competition, but were unable to secure a place in it due to time constraints (in other words, those not in the original eight), please PM me if you are interested in entering the next contest. I'll be sure to let you know when it starts, so that you don't miss it, as well.
...Vaynor, I think it would be best if we started quickly.

Re: Iron Poet II
Don't forget to post a deadline, Vay. We don't want any confusion...
edit: by the way, kids, I hope you were paying attention to this lesson. When the contest slows down, all you have to do is mention it. Whether its Vaynor's fault, or one of the judges, we all tend to jump on things rather quickly once somebody has said something...Last edited by PhoeKun; 2007-09-09 at 07:19 PM.
