    If you preview your post, then rolls won't work.

    The best workaround is to post with just the rolls first, then edit your post. Also, don't worry about people fudging their rolls. The forum will make it obvious if someone does that. Example:

    * post roll count doesn't match database

    Impact foam seems to me to be the poor man's alchemical feather fall.

    Reminds me of this scene from Mission Impossible.

    I'll allow the dive through the window, use tail to flick foam into his hand, throw foam, keep diving out the window onto the foam maneuver.
    I assume Silas is alright taking a (2d4)[8] damage from window glass in return for getting out of there with Trinia this round?
    I believe 20' up is 3d6 damage, Silas failed to negate the first 10' with his Acrobatics check, but the foam reduces that to (1d6)[6] lethal plus (1d6)[3] non-lethal.
    If Silas can make a Reflex save equal to 10+the lethal damage, he can cushion Trinia's fall as well (so DC 16 Reflex to negate that 6 lethal, 3 non-lethal to Trinia).
    And staying in the room to kill the grappler probably would have gotten him shot by the rogue.

    Also, by crashing through the window Silas definitely surprised the sniper outside.
    That gives him another round of actions.
    Obviously he's going to pick Trinia up and run away, but which route is he going to take?

    Staying on the main street, giving him a clear line of run to get away in public, which would allow the rooftop sniper one shot at him as he flees?
    Or duck into the side alleys, blocking the sniper's shot and avoiding notice, but potentially running straight into a 5th member of Tark's crew that's been positioned to block off that route of escape (if there is such a man)?

    And, assuming he escapes, where is Silas taking the unconscious Trinia?

    Getting shot: Oh, yeah, most likely. 21 AC is decent at level 3, but certainly not amazing.

    Fall damage is 1d6 per 10'. That'd make it 2d6 lethal before foam reductions, I think.

    Reflex: (1d20+6)[23]

    The main street is his would be escape route to his own home, where I am hoping he can hire a few lookouts while he figures out his next move.

    Which one is MI 4? Is that the one with the server inside a massive water turbine? Everything after the second movie is kind of blurred together for me.

    Silas's string of bad-good luck continues.
    The sniper managed to shoot him in the back (barely - with a "22" to-hit).
    And Silas managed to pass the initial Fort save versus the Blue whinnis poison on the dot (DC 14).
    Which is good, because he would have flubbed the secondary save and fallen unconscious in the middle of the street (rolled a total of "6" on that save).

    I have two questions I want to ask.

    One, if I made a ready action to grapple someone would I be broadcasting my intention to do so?

    Two can I grapple someone through a small hole roughly the size of a chest high sliding panel set in a door?

    One, yes in this case you would need to make a Bluff check to disguise your intent to grab someone, although that's only if you're actually using the Ready action to grab someone as soon as if you have an opportunity. If you're just standing there talking, and then decide "hey, I want to grapple that guy", that's probably still a bluff check to get a surprise round, but if you win initiative you also get to go first and grab them before they get a chance to move out of your reach.

    Two, yes, but since it's a little awkward trying to grab someone through a narrow slot, even if you can fit your whole arm through it, he will have Cover (+4 to his CMD, which you need to beat with a grapple in order to grab a hold of him). On the plus side, since there's a door between you, he won't get an Attack of Opportunity to shiv you while you're making a grapple check, as the usual rules for making most Combat maneuvers like Grapple.

    Rules pedantry incoming: since initiative hasn't been rolled yet, you're not actually able to ready an action. Determining who acts first is what initiative is for, and the rules for readied actions require you to already have a place in the initiative order. The only way to get around initiative to act first is with a surprise round, which requires the enemy to be unaware of you (typically stealth check vs perception). A lot of GM's houserule to allow bluff vs sense motive as well to catch enemies by surprise, but that has no basis in the actual rules.

    Running bluff vs sense motive for a surprise round seems to be what Inspectre wants to do here, and I've got no objections to that, but it's not a readied action and doesn't use the rules for readied actions.

    I'll leave it to Inspectre as to whether Dalen's theory regarding his charm person spell on Trinia had anything to do with the echo, but it made for a powerful but concise exposition so I went with it.

    Appropriately enough, I believe you've misremembered the death of Lamm, Stelio. I went back to the old thread and checked to confirm, and indeed Aliani was not the one who killed Lamm. He knocked him into the negatives, but subsequently channeled positive energy and brought him back. It was Morvan who struck him down, and then Cykan who ensured he was never getting back up. I think Aliani misremembering the event actually works very well in this scene, though.
