So, on another forum, I'm in an extended argument that basically amounts to me ctiting things the author of a fictional work said that more or less spell out one thing and people repeatedl saying "no, that's not what happened."

As can be understood, this is rather frustrating for me.

I am requesting cute pictures of Scootaloo so I an turn off my brain and daw at something for a bit.

Can I trust Ponythread to help?

On an unrelated note, I've taken quite a liking to Starlight Glimmer - I've been drawing her a lot in recent days in my practice doodles, and I hope those practices did her justice in this "feature" piece. This also doubled as my foray into complex shading.

Your shading is getting very good. That varying intensity in Rarity's mane is a great example of your mad skills.

Starlight is pretty cool.

I think it might be becuase I'm writing a fanfic where my original character goes by the name "Cuddlebug" when acting as a superhero.

Becuase she really likes Spider-Man and image wouldn't let her call herself Snuggles after her symbiote if anyone is curious.

Back from Bovington...

Still waaaay too uncomfortably hot.

We spent a day and a bit at the tank museum - the actual wargames show wasn't very special and actually impeded some of the things I wanted to to see, but I got a few useful photoes.

I was surprised, though, to find examples of the very first Aotrs armoured vehicles (ably... ridden..? by Derpy and Sunset...)

We spent the full hour in the conservation area next day (mostly chatting with one of the staff), but sadly, the photoes in that area did NOT come out.



And then we went for a walk in Swanage and I lost my camera (because it was in my pocket, not my pack and of course the ONE TIME I don't check every five seconds...) But - and thus saving humanity for another day - a chap actually found it and turned it in to the Tourist Information next door; he'd left a number, so I actually used my barely-present mobile (which AMAZINGLY had charge in it) and gave him a quick ring to say thank you. (So worth bearing in my, if you are in the UK and lose sommat or find sommat - take it to the local Tourist Information, 'cos they might have it. (They get loads of stuff, they said.) Good job, esle a) would have been a bit of a wasted trip and b), no pony photos as above...



Edit: Deadpool the Musical 2 (NSFW, as if if "Deadpool" was not a giveaway), guest-starring BEST X-MAN (actually doing more in this one parody than the ENTIRE movieverse put together).

I actually bothered to faff with my google account to make a youtube comment (the first time I EVER have done that¹ just to say thank you for Best X-Man, because I felt it THAT important to me.



¹Normally, it's left on Dad's work google account all the time, and that's thus the one that remembers all the watched videoes and stuff and I can't be arsed (or tempted) to switch to leave comments and such.

Yes, I am painfully aware that my colouring sucks. To my great misfortune... :(

And yes, the colourations are changed from canon. I for one don't really relish drawing green- or cyan-skinned aliens. Which is another reason why I almost never colour my EQG art, I guess. Don't need to tackle the canon colours if I don't colour!

That EQG table is going to come in handy.

I've missed a single episode in S8, can't remember which off the top of my head ... otherwise I'm up to date on that. Sadly Netflix still only has up to S6 where I live.

Nice work on the sirens, but you knew that from my DA comments. I generally agree that pony colors on humans seems off, but I get why they did that.

I find the reverse - the characters not in their actual skin colour, but shoved into human spectrum I find disconcerting, like them being made into an ethnicity that is foreign... And, frankly, to me personally, it feels a bit of the old humanocentrism, in the rationale that only "human colours" are "right."

(And they look far better in their own colours than in the dismal range of human off-pink through brown.)

I still think that EqG Bic Mac looks HORRIBLY wrong not in his proper colour, but a washed-out pink. Seriously, why did they not make him properly bloody (expletivie, not descriptive) red like he should be?

Red draws the eye and Big McIntosh is a bit character who shouldn't be getting much attention (odd Brony fixations on background characters notwithstanding).

I'm in the same boat. I simply cannot picture RD with any other skin color than blue. Or at least I can't if I'm not specifically concentrating on imagining her a different color...

Human flesh tones work ten billion percent better than the pastel colours in my opinion. It's no coincidence the best looking Equestria Girls are Sunset and Adagio, whose yellowish tones are at least in the correct ballpark. Rainbow looks entirely out of place.

I love the Beanis Cinematic Universe. It's like they took the absolute dumbest idea that they could and decided to show that yes, anything can be good with the proper effort put in it.

She looks fantastic - and she wouldn't look even 5% as fantastic if she had that same 'I was holding the Corax White spray in the wrong direction when priming my Eldar' look Rarity's got going on.

I like EqG Rarity (as much as I can like any of these freakishly proportioned characters). Maybe it's just because I'm about as pale as she is, or maybe I just like to imagine that she's wearing corpse paint ... Mmmm, Black Metal Rarity, is that a thing?
