Default The Black Shingle Fiasco (OOC) II: The Second One

I couldn't think of a clever title. Sue me.

Avita's built up this assumption that Thaddeus is gay, in case it isn't obvious. It explains a few odd things about him. Avita's also apparently straight-laced enough to find this amusing.

It was pretty obvious. I wasn't sure if anyone would pick up on it, but it's good to hear you've remembered the few obscure hints I've dropped. Avita's reaction has given me more than a few chuckles.

Avita and I were a little thoughtful on how much attention he paid to Eric in our first couple of meetings, but the housekeeper threw her off. She just assumed the lady was a Mistress until proven otherwise. It was only when we found him hiding in the dark wearing a robe with another man that she thought; "hello. Something here's not quite butter-side up". Then there's all the stuff about dinner parties with other men, and then FINALLY the green cloak just made her go; "Right. I'm right aren't I?"

She's trying not to show anything but I think she's one of those somewhat visceral young ladies who just don't see the POINT of gay men, so her attitudes probably don't come across as very enlightened.

Avita assumes Coggy's his latest lover, out of interest. Yossarian even had him break off introducing you as a "BOdyguard" after the first two letters and Avita's assuming he was about to say "BOyfriend."

Well Thaddeus is going to be very disappointed that Coggy is straight and married. I'll be surprised if Thaddeus is going to kissed Coggy right out of the blue. LOL!

...Thaddeus is in confinment. That sort of thing could be considered rape. In fact, it IS rape.

I wonder if Avita ever noticed that Silvet was eyeing her up right at the beginning? Or how she'd react if she did? I mean, she was very quick to spot Eric trying to flirt with her and plainly not have a bar of it.

I hate to disappoint you but Eric already got a girlfriend. But we will never know the truth now that both characters are out of the picture.

I've felt short-handed since we lost Silvet but it wouldn't be the same without JNA.

Some new blood would be nice though.

I heartily agree. If everyone would be interested, I could set up a recruitment thread to get 1 or 2 more players. There are always plenty of people on this forum eager to play 3.5.

It's obvious that sooner or later that those Pelorites with be exposed of who they really are.

Seriously; what are we supposed to be accomplishing here? We've already GOT the Pelorites provably engaged in criminal behaviour and we've been told it just doesn't matter. I don't think adding another charge to their sheet is going to make a lot of difference when they've simply shown they can ignore the law and do whatever the hell they want.

Not to mention we don't have the time, support, or skills to even get started. We can't read those books and we don't know anyone we can trust who CAN.

Kresh (and apparently Coggy) are under the impression that there's some kind of conspiracy being perpetrated by the highest ranking members of the Temple of Pelor. Something that would horrify even the most zealous of their minions. And he also believes that you need to use whatever means are necessary to get to the bottom of it, even if that involves taking significant risks.

That doesn't mean he's right, but it is what he believes.

All we've got so-far is "Pelorites seem to have know about Parker and Thaddeus's lame-brain plot and tolerated it, presumably because they hoped to gain something." It's politically embarrassing but nowhere as patently criminal and overt as the murder attempts, which we can already prove. And the fact that Thaddeus's plot was so silly doesn't inspire me with any faith that combing through his dirty laundry will get us much.

Also, Avita just came really close to shouting; "Troops? You've never had any troops! You've got a few hundred quarreling children and doughnut-munchers trying not very hard to be an army! This is the problem!"

But she didn't because that wouldn't be helpful.

    Coggy Cogswell: Conspiracy Theorist.

You can tell that Coggy have a huge history with all good religions. He really hate Pelorites and really wanted Pelorites to go down in flames.

I'm really glad I belatedly made Avita a local girl with family in town because otherwise the temptation for her to just leave town would become basically overwhelming.

Well, let's see. We've been given a basically impossible order, have no leads to go on and have minimal resources, our allies that we're supposedly trying to save don't seem to be able or willing to lift a finger or even do their jobs, everyone hates us for essentially no reason, we're facing a demonic invasion and the antipathy of a world-spanning organisation that is apparently immune from the law, and it's all happening so fast that Sarim hasn't had time to heal up from yesterday.

Also, I think we just did a scene from a 70s-80s "cowboy cop" movie. Shall Avita get a badge so Kresh can tell her to turn it in?
