Need suggestions for video game ringtones
Hey guys, i just got myself a brand new samsung galaxy S5 and i need a suitably badass ringtone. Bonus points for text message alert ideas. I'm mining my Persona 4 OST for potentials as we speak.

Re: Need suggestions for video game ringtones
I had the opening refrain of Reach out to the Truth as my ringtone for a while, it worked pretty nicely.
I suggest Trombe from Super Robot Wars for anyone you always have to talk to right away when they call. It overrides everything after all.
Popular text message sounds include the 'Alert!' jingle from MGS, or the ring or coin collection sounds from Sonic and Mario. Really any mario power-up sound could make a good text message alert."And if you don't, the consequences will be dire!"
"What? They'll have three extra hit dice and a rend attack?"
Factotum Variants!

Re: Need suggestions for video game ringtones
I use this. Nobody will be able to tell it's from a video game in public and it sounds like a regular, polyphonic jingle.

Re: Need suggestions for video game ringtones
There's the Nintendo pause jingle (most recognizeably from Super Mario Brothers (the first) ), any of the little Duck Hunt riffs, Navi's "Hey! Listen!" (for people you might not like much), or Tatl's less annoying dingle, all of which could make decent text notices.
The King of All Cosmos could make a track for either text or ringtone, though the other tunes with his games probably don't count as badass.
If you're looking through Personae, why not three or five as well? Three's got the usual fight hip-hop "Shadows of Mass Destruction", the introduction "Burn My Dread" (and its reprise at the end), and the other song that plays at the beach and monorail (don't remember the title), as well as the arcana-shadow fight tune (starts out great). Four's got a great introduction song and I liked a couple of the after-school ones like "Day after Day" or somesuch. Five's heist tunes could work as ringtones, either with or without vocals. Its little victory song might even work, too.

The first couple of lines of the victory tune from Final Fantasy (pick your favourite variation) always amuses me and doesn't even sound out of place.

I always use this one:

(Although, since it's a MIDI track, the version I put on my phone has slightly different instrument sounds to that video).

Re: Need suggestions for video game ringtones
A friend at work has the Zelda 'da-da-da-DAHHHH!' as his message alert and the Link to the Past Dark World theme as his ring tone.
My wife uses 'Dearly Beloved' from Kingdom Hearts as her ringtone.
I'm currently using the Taiko drums from the Warframe Fan Kit as my alarm sound, and there are a variety of other sound effects and tones in there.

I've got Metal Gear Solid's alerted guard noise as mine.
It also gets the best reactions out of nearby people who understand what it is and instinctively go into "OH CRAP" mode or are just befuddled at why there is this noise.

Re: Need suggestions for video game ringtones
Kinda wondering whether the OP is a bot, but since the topic's fun anyway, sure. I use this version of Reach Out to the Truth for my ringtone, and the opening of the Persona 3 menu theme for notifications myself. Because why I would use anything not Persona-related? The series' music is too good not to.

Re: Need suggestions for video game ringtones
I'm using the Codec call Sound (I forgot which version precisely) from MGS for text messages and the Alert noise for the rare SMS. And the FFV victory fanfare for calls.

Re: Need suggestions for video game ringtones
I used to use the Magmoor Caverns theme from Metroid Prime 1.
I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.
I'm not joking one bit. I would buy the hell out of that. -- ChubbyRain
