MMmm yeah. I really didn't think that through very well....and Kara actually did turn back to her human form just prior. Apologies. Still trying to get back into a furry mindset.

It doesn't matter anymore, but I had assumed everyone was in Dire Wolf form. That's really funny to picture Kara running biped with a pack of giant wolves just leaving her in the dust.

Just FYI, I'm going to hold off on posting ATM to let the characters quickly discuss what they are going to do. And as a heads up, my wife and I are flying cross country tonight to pick up our puppy from the breeder and fly back tomorrow morning. So starting this afternoon and going into tomorrow night I will probably not be able to post, except for quick thoughts from my cellphone.

Okay, we need to run, the question is whether running through the tunnels in the material world or the spirit realm is the better idea.

I think we're more likely to get trapped in the material realm, but we'll face more enemies in the spirit realm.

He who obliterates breathing took a long time to cross the gauntlet earlier, it makes sense that it would be the same to return, so that could buy us some lead time in favor of the spirit realm (assuming of course we can cross over more swiftly)

Lets get to a decision quickly, one way or another.

That makes sense. Basically prolonging the chase. Who knows, maybe if we drag it around on a merry chase we will catch a glimpse of something to do with its ban?

Okay, so it looks like we've reached a consensus, and the pack will move to Reach across the Gauntlet into the Hisil. However, the pack is under stress, and so I am going to ask each member to roll to cross as per the rulebook. Your dice pool will be 10-Harmony +2 for being at a locus. I think this will make it interesting, because someone may be trapped on the other side (eyes dart nervously to ER). However, in its own right that may actually be a good thing, because the Spirit can't chase the Uratha on both sides of the Gauntlet.

Good luck with your rolls. And thank you for the patience. For those who are wondering, Kochi the Shikoku puppy is awesome, and made it home safely.

@TC: Please give me an Int + Occult roll

My vote is to head back to our home, rest, gather those Banes and then down this damnable thing.

The idea of going after the insane werewolf isn't a bad one, but I'd be more comfortable taking care of that after we got rid of the Plague King. I don't like the idea of him lingering any longer than possible. It's like any isolation precautions. The longer the illness is out there, the more it spreads and harder it is to extinguish.

Okay, let the tallying of beats begin:

I'm giving every character 2 beats towards securing territory as part of the actions taken in the sewers "tonight". I am giving a third beat to all characters for "discovering what happened to the harbor wolves", for when they found the infested territory in the Hisil.

-Blaze: Unfortunately due to the combat nature of this scene, Blaze gains no additional beats. Fortunately, Blaze's aspirations are going to be much more important for the upcoming scene, including the (likely) addressing of your third aspiration. Thank you for the patience. With this Blaze has 1 beat and 2 XP now.
#Blaze gets 1WP as part of his Soldier archetype.

-Bear: Given the pack's unity in the hunt, Bear gets an additional beat. This brings Bear to 4 beats and 3 XP.
#Bear recovers 1 WP as part of his Solider archetype.

-Kara: Unfortunately, due to the combat nature of this scene, Kara does not gain any additional beats. However, I expect the diversity of activities coming up will better allow Kara to gain XP. That said, might i suggest switching out Aspiration 1, as I'm not sure how we can play this out in an exciting manner, other than to make you roll a few dice to see if Kara wrote a good song, unless you have some ideas??? Ultimately, this brings Kara to 1 shiny XP.
#No WP recovered as part of Bone or Blood.

-Michael: Michael gains an additional beat for exploring his Uratha nature by participating in the hunt and helping to kill a swath of Beshilu. Let me know if you want to update some of your aspirations as well. This puts Michael at 2 beats, 2 XP.
#Michael gains 1 WP as part of his Destroyer archetype.

-Solomon: I'm giving Solomon an additional beat for achieving something of lasting good in the Hisil by catching and killing the Beshilu Priest. This brings Solomon to 1 beat and 3 XP.
#Solomon gains 2 WP, one for each of his archetypes.

@All: Please let me know if you plan on updating your aspirations. Note that we will not be including interlude scenes here to allow for personal character exploration, if you want to take that into account. Please let me know if you are spending XP.

Please note that I am beginning to use bone and blood archetypes to determine renewal of WP. After reviewing the rules, I can't find any evidence that WP renews at the end of a scene in Werewolf. Therefore WP is likely to become a more precious commodity. Please speak up if you think I've missed a chance to award your character WP as part of this system.

Everything is updated in the character boxes.

I think that Aspiration is definitely something that would suit Kara, but you're right. It doesn't really flow well into the game itself. That being said, what about a subtle change to it? I like the idea of the emphasis still on music and the band, but now that we've got a Patron in the Reveler, what if we swap it to something like:

Learn more how to tap into the power of the Reveler to boost her ability as a musician for the betterment of the band?

I'm not opposed to the idea, but could you explain to me how you would see moving towards accomplishing this, other than spending XP to make The Reveler more powerful? I just want to make sure I can find ways to integrate it into the story.

I figured it could be a combination of things such as making the Reveler more powerful, increasing her Performance skill, learning gifts from it, may be experience some vision quests or let him ride her to experience the mortal world? I don't know how Uratha think about that. Just batting ideas around.

Hmmm... would changing the Aspiration to something like "Forming a closer personal connection with Reveler" make more sense then? Any way that Kara moves towards becoming a better musician will automatically fulfill her goal towards helping the band go platinum.

Again, I think for me it helps if I can see scenes or interactions that would contribute towards the Aspiration, because at the very least I can try to incorporate that. If it's too nebulous, the aspiration may get lost in the fray.

I can see the scene of Reveler riding Kara, and especially if that is taboo that would be pretty dramatic, and I can think of various reasons to let that happen, but things like "helping it become more powerful" I have more trouble with.

Not trying to oppose you, just trying to find a way that I can make the proposed aspiration work, so that it can help drive the story for Kara and get her some beats.
