Forgive my ignorance, but what would Solomon be able to do for this situation?

As the trickster assassin there's basically two options. One is convince him it's in his best interest to keep his mouth shut by telling a bunch of lies. If that doesn't work there's option two...Bear is a noble warrior, he probably would prefer not to kill someone in a hospital bed. Solomon can't stop himself thinking about how to kill everyone he meets as quietly as possible.

Option two would probably be unnecessary tho. You only transformed into Dalu, which screams supernatural but not werewolf

@Daishain: Bear does not note anyone watching. As previously noted, the streets appear surprisingly abandoned.

@All: Will allow others to join in at the museum before moving things along, in regards to engaging Kara or Blaze.

This would trigger the breaking point to spirit yes? I am away from the pdf on my computer at the moment, what needs to be rolled?

And no, Bear is not doing this because it is easier, he figures that this path contains the least risk for the pack. He puts them at risk if he runs from the scene, and he puts them at risk if the thug is allowed to talk.

Of course, this puts himself at risk of legal trouble, but he figures whatever happens there is his penance for being so stupid with the claws.

Okay, I will hold off on moving the museum forward till tonight to give people to post.

@Daishain: Yes, that would be a breaking point. Resolve + Composure. No modifier, can’t use WP. I apologize for being misleading, but in reviewing the WtF rules, Breaking Points don’t earn beats (like in VtR for example), and don’t give a condition for failing. I suppose this is because an Uratha’s harmony is supposed to fluctuate more easily than a Vampire’s Humanity.

Actually, if possible, I would prefer to willfully fail this roll. Bear is better off at Harmony 6, as was recently demonstrated by having to burn an extra essence to shift for a maneuver I intended as a staple of his.

It makes sense for him to make that morality shift right now in any case. With this move, hes definitely distancing himself from humanity in his mind. Placing the safety of the pack and the secrecy of his kind as more important than the life of a man, even one as deserving of a harsh fate as this.

If not possible to willfully fail and I must roll... (5d10)[4][6][8][2][7](27)

Ooh, just barely didn't fail anyways and make the point moot.

Phew, thank goodness. Bear's not going to stand for being imprisoned for any real length of time, but becoming a fugitive from the law wouldn't exactly be a good way to start a campaign, at least not one where others are depending on him.

Aaaand I should be back by now, just in time for... the museum scene to wrap up. Darn.

Well, post coming then. Sorry for the absence, my line of work is a little muddy to describe (Yes, I'm one of those "Civil discourse counter-measure engineer" fancy titles) so at times I get assigned tasks that barely fit my experience level only because I'm the closest specialist. And this time it was way over my head.

A civil discourse counter-measure engineer sounds like a Technocratic way of saying you figure out ways to stop public gatherings and protests from happening.

I'm sure that's not the case, and I don't mean that disparagingly. It's just my imaginative brain at work.

If curious, I was until relatively recently in the middle of earning a degree in mechanical and industrial systems engineering. The former discipline focuses on machinery, the latter on processes, how things flow through to complete a task. If you want to improve the efficiency of an assembly line, you call on an ISYS engineer.

But I ended up getting almost literally beggared by the cost of it and was forced to seek a better paying job.

Right now, I'm a commercial truck driver, as I type this, I'm sitting a bit ahead of 43,000 pounds of IKEA furniture.

Ironically, and sadly, enough, this job is starting to pay nearly as much as the engineering would have, without the need for a stupidly expensive degree.

Manipulation 1 + -1 modifier for unskilled in subterfuge, +1 bonus for telling the truth=1d10 not two. So technically Bear failed this roll. Due to possible confusion regarding your odds, I'll let you spend a WP point for 3 bonus dice if you want.

I won't have Bear arrested for failing, but what will happen is it will lead to further investigation and Bear and subsequently the group will be under further scrutiny; which while being a pain in the ass for the Pack, would make for some interesting roleplaying.

Last week my family was in town for my program’s graduation party, and I’ve been pretty busy getting my onboarding finished for Fellowship. @Ladorak (And All): I know I screwed this up before but in this scenario this was not the proper tracking roll. I will give you the single success, but starting from now on, we will follow the tracking rules per pg 95. My apologies for messing this up before.

If we were going by the book it would be: Wits (3) + Streetwise for being in an urban environment (-1 for unskilled) + Primal Urge (1) - Opponent’s streetwise (3)= for 0 or a chance dice. Ladorak’s first dice is an 8, but for a chance dice this would have been a fail. Regardless, we will count this roll as one success, and from here on out change what we are doing.

OMG, awesome. Actually, the first blues song I ever wrote was called, “I’m the Big Bad Wolf” and was written in the style of Muddy Water’s “I’m a Howlin’ Wolf”, and Buddy Guy’s “First Time I Met the Blues”.

Side note, check this out. I found out about this this morning, and I definitely have to find a way to incorporate it now.

EDIT: @Madmal & Tonberry: Just a heads up, as I know you have both been busy. If post rates stay slow, I will be temporarily controlling your characters to keep things moving. THis does not mean I will be kicking you out, but as mentioned in the recruitment thread, I will control them just to keep things moving. This will probably start tomorrow.

“I’ll go check out those wards now, but it looks like there might be something nasty in the ocean,” he said.
'An Old One maybe,' said Solomon flatly 'A Deep Old One... I wonder if our guest Spirit knows anything about that.
'I think we should...' Solomon was briefly distracted as Kara came in, likely he'd never get used to that. Pointedly staring in the opposite direction he continued 'Revisit the museum. In the Hisil. E's right though, we came to fight rats, whatever this is can wait...hopefully.'
"I...don't want to think about whatever is down there, but I know...I know that it's involved somehow in the ****show of that is New Bedford." She scowls, though her distaste is an obvious deflection to avoid dealing with the true fear she's got curdling in her gut at the thought.
@Ladorak & Erulasto: Sorry guys, but this is a conversation that Solomon wasn't involved in. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I wanted to build more "private scenes" to allow certain players to develop specific relationships with NPCs. Solomon will get this as well, but this was specifically designed for Blaze and Santiago.

EDIT: @ALL: And for these side scenes, please make it clear if you are interacting in mulitple scenes, who each post is directed at. I think using a Spoiler to indicate a side scene is useful for helping to separate what is happening with everyone, vs what is happening in a side conversation.

I agree, I in particular don't have any strong opinions on most of the NPCs and a chance to detail them would be good.

And those questions in my last post were legitimate to the group and the ST. Do I need to roll Intelligence + Empathy to try to recall the "general ambiance" of that scene? Would Encyclopedic Knowledge be valid here?

If you're headin' down the highway
    Down about route ten,
Get off at the last exit
And take it around the bend
    You'll find a small town
    But don't go hangin' 'round.
'Cause hate lives in a small town
'Least that's what I have found.
