Re: OOTS #1120 - The Discussion Thread
Harsh!
"You're not a daddy, you're dead!"
"I literally don't know anyone you haven't met"?
Exactly how closely does Durkon get to monitor Durkula's behavior? The images make it look like Durkon can only see what's happening when Durkula lets him.
In which case, I would think that Durkula has met many people that he hasn't allowed Durkon to meet.

Good to see "the real Durkon" again, talking to the vampire within the vampire's head.

Looks like Durkon Classic is adapting to being a father quickly.

Daddy Durkon is sweet. Of course, he's Good and it's a baby, so I'd expect that response regardless, but still.

Prediction: That baby is warded with some sort of special protection. When the vampire touches him he will get fried.
Also I think Durban's mother is going to make an appearance. Maybe to finish him off.

Wait... The dwarf is carrying their child into battle... Is that a dwarf fortress reference?

That's the twist no one had seen coming: Lurkon already knew about Hilgya.

Okay, that was seriously careless of both of them. "Who brought the protection cantrip? No one, oh well, tomorrow would be too long to wait, we'll just risk it."

Perfect.
Durkon's reaction was exactly how I pictured it to be... nice flashback scene too ;-)

Re: OOTS #1120 - The Discussion Thread
Honestly, it's only careless in Hilgya's case - I don't think Durkon had even an inkling of an idea he'd be getting laid that night, while Hilgya clearly had plans to go for it and had been laying groundwork for long enough that she really should've prepared it herself.
ETA: although this suggests Loki clerics refresh in the morning.

Re: OOTS #1120 - The Discussion Thread
Is there any chance that Hilgya said it shortly after they were intimate, a bit like a guy asking afterward "By the way, are you on the pill"?
Or is it more likely that it was said before, followed by "lets risk it"?Marut-2 Avatar by Serpentine

Re: OOTS #1120 - The Discussion Thread
That seemed anti-climactic to me. Durkula seems to be taking this additional, high level, cleric far too calmly, considering that she's going to completely screw up his plans.

No! C'mon Durkon! Don't let him hurt Kudzu!
I'm hoping Hilgya put more than a few wards to protect him...Last edited by Herr Doktor; 2018-05-07 at 12:18 PM.

Re: OOTS #1120 - The Discussion Thread
"A long procession of dead father figures" - Could be referencing a lot of things, I guess. My first thought was Roy's dead father, but Durkon's own dead father makes more sense (especially since, like Durkon himself, he died before he got to meet his son). Or even both, hence "long procession."
