Post Re: The test of your powers an endless guantlet

If we get going on our 2nd day in the bottle-neck, just use the character has needed. Have Jon arrive at the most awkward timing, give a silent one handed militia salute the departed and helps bury him. Then I wish to speak to Gex if our party is sending him off especially with the note!

Some feedback from Gex would be nice at this point, because it informs what we do with the others and 2/5 of the party have yet to weigh in on this.

But I'm reasonably certain that neither Ander nor Frederick are going to be up for killing them; both for alignment reasons and because Ander just killed his first guy in combat and is almost certainly not up for cold blooded murder

Robina doesn't trust them not to betray us even if they say they join our side, so she will very firmly argue against that.

At the moment then I propose:

    If GEX is staying:

Release the guards, leave them two sets of mail, two longswords and two shields and tell them to GTFO and not follow us

    If GEX is leaving:

Give him a head start and then cut them loose as above later in the day

I pestered the DM about Gex..he somehow kept forgetting he was there..

Also why give them, their weapons back? Im cool, with the armor and shields at least ( although they run faster without armor hahaha)

I think turning them loose in the wilderness without weapons would be closer to killing them than we really want.

    No

When Robina first talked to them she might have tried diplomacy, but she was still upset Frederick had nearly died and they'd tried to kill GX, and at the same time Jon was pulling their pants down and making them sit on hot rocks so diplomacy wasn't a thing.

Then Jon tried to talk to them, which didn't go anywhere much.

So we have left them for your input, by all means try to appeal to their better nature, but I am pretty certain Mr "he was weak he deserves to die" doesn't have one and they still have residual loyalty to their Lieutenant

Post Re: The test of your powers an endless guantlet

1] changed the note translation to blame me.
    2] the obsession is that:
    a) we could send a guy we like to a death sentence
    b) they still may have another guy that could speak goblin or at least under-common
    c) we could send 2 people we don't like to the death sentence with the guy we like
    d) if they have a translator and they prove it is a forgery, then it may save Gex from a big punishment by the village, but then he has to prepare those he care about and that is ALWAYS rough

3] roll for listen didn't have the close bracket once I edited to include my "that isn't good", the roll was a 17 total, but if needs be: (1d20+4)[15]

4] I think in character I try to do good, but not in a good way...it sort of like the line: "My parents' death taught me a different lesson and that is the world only makes sense if you force it." Therefore I think it neutral to try and shift the blame to the council and good to get rid of the "evil" that sent us to the slaughter.

the problem is jon is that your note means nothing to anyone who isn't of goblinkin, were you to show the note to anyone other than goblins it would be met with extreme confusion. think of it like this, if I tried showing my daughters math test to the mayor in hopes of blaming someone else. what would the mayor do with a document of that nature? nothing.. unless he was told a specific backstory on the nature of the math test. lets say X, forged my daughters math test in the mayors council, and im bringing this up to the mayor to make it known.

in other words the notes, the forged one, and the real one mean nothing to anyone except you guys the party, and the goblins that it was written for.
if you sent the note, whether real or forged back with the guards, nothing will happen. Even if you forced them to bring the notes because they can easily just ditch the notes and do their own thing. because itll be impossible for you to make them explain what it is/for, let alone show a document that would otherwise incriminate them. though your forgery can still come in handy should you act wisely in the next few postings.

oh well, I will think more about character development in a different way. Do you like the weapon groupings feats to used trained weapons or do you like weapon pro to weapon specializing?

    I reconsidered opening with Sleep.

Obscuring Mist will give us some cover, and split them up so they cannot focus fire on one target, then we can pop out on whatever side we like and focus on whoever is on that side.

sigh Re: The test of your powers an endless guantlet

this is why I don't like rolling high initiatives:
1] you can't hit anything afterwards
2] stealth characters usually like it when the opponents are occupied by the other members, so you can walk around back stabbing has needed
3] Max effort to reign in the big bad

Anyway we have another tough fight coming up and our only healing is one potion of CMW + whatever 0 level spells Frederick has over.

So we will need to play this one smart

I got optioned 1-ed after a high start point. Dang it, I know 1 is a critical miss, but what horrors await a critical 0?

    Attack rolls
    L2 (3d20)[11][19][1](31) +4
    O2 (3d20)[11][6][5](22) +4

    so 15 total either way.

I keep forgetting stuff today, maybe I should have had a better nap...My futon broke, the local police kept circling me because I had a toilet to sewer snake I was carrying back to the municipal building, still no replies for another job request.

(1d6)[3] if this is one I am just going to start laughing.

idk if we found a wizard school, but there are: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Element...r_(3.5e_Class)
instead of focusing on a school the wiz does his biz by gain elemental command and then focusing one 1 PURE element; maybe zodiac style like the Chinese type or the standards. Sort of like Ninjago from Legos (both TM)
This is my person thought, but all the spells we have seen could be flavored to be water elemental stylized and apparently they work with rangers and druids.

Still it is your character and the DMs' call.
