Jon are you planning on taking some spellcaster levels then?

I feel I might take Ranger if we live to level up, because we might need more melee support and even if I don't Robina isn't going to get 2nd level spells anytime soon (maybe about about level 6)

thieves desperately need the third level for the dodge/trapsenses or that other option and for this character I need the fourth level for the stat strength buffing, unless we find something to do that.

my int: isn't good enough for a straight wiz; cha is

Druid - I can only ask, WHAT IS THE DM's Rulings on casting the same level zero spell multiple times?
What would be the DC to target items held by npcs and DC / Hardness of Floors be like?

Yes these are questions I ask before trying to make a druid, yes there are reasons, yes...Hide the peanut butter.

If I take Fighter, I could skip a lot of twangy bowman-ship skills and prioritizing range
Never did a Barbarian before, do I still have to trade in my language skills to join the "club"?

Any of these ideas might work, depending on what you all need.

Also I have been reading about 1e were they had some silly classes, like:
    (found here: https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-24-most-...ter-1524448977)
they even mention harlot has a class

and I was thinking about adding level zero (basically +4 skill points janky skills or hard to learn/ needs a master to teach skills, a "job", a +1 to 1 stat, and 1d6 hp) to my character out of one of them to make them sound fluff-wise like a commoner, disgraced aristocrat, circus guy, etc
this is a part of back storytelling and it is just an idea of how your character learned stuff. Plus still need to run it by the DM.

in this the "job" isn't a joke, its more about what you did, like were you the town's bread baker or a former slave.

Lightbulb Re: The test of your powers an endless guantlet

So I don't miss the fight this is what I am planning:

1 get either L2 or O2 to step up to me
2 side step either and use the other to meat shield for me
3 lure big bad with my flank wide and multiple bogeys
4 pray big bad don't wonk me
5 dis-engage (5 foot step without attack of opportunity)
6 hit big bad a lot / move if possible
7 have his supporters block his path
8 rinse and repeat 4 through 8 until dead

I would love a scene firing arrows with my bow around a goblin neck that is taking sub-dmg from choking / bow string to back of neck, then me picking up arrows.

Of course this is just planning...

    Well bear in mind:

    11. Ability score increases, are +2 to one stat at every increase.

So we are going up by 2s and not 1s, so you could get to INT14 at 4th level and not have that be a limiting factor on spells known and just try to avoid spells with a DC

Or go Druid, work that into your background and become Sewer Druid and try to get an Oytugh as your companion

I checked Complete Warrior to see if there is anything that might fit for him, there is Dark Hunter which tallies with someone who hangs out underground (sewers)

Oytugh - has too many hp dies and a special poison to start with has a fimiliar, I would have to feat eat, find something to shade it with, and not let it screw with combat math.

Dark Hunter does sound nice, but I am not sure if it meant a melee or ranged +5 bab, if the setting is underdark (usually a 2e setting), and humans don't have dark vision normally.
Although it does sound seriously tempting.

I will multi-class if I find something for strength, if not, bump me up to the next level and let me have my sweet feats.

Jon please bear in mind we are playing 3.5
Bab is bab.there is no such rhing as melee or ranged bbab if you need 5 bab you need 5 on your chart ( ex 5 lvls fighter give 5 bab ..or 7 lvls? Rogue i think)

cool Re: The test of your powers an endless guantlet

Alright, dark hunter will have to wait then. Druid will have to await DM's rulings on multi-casting level zero spells.
Although I do like a good ranged fighter, just have to do something about feat stacking - ie 2 simple weapons, 2 bow same feats.
I just thought that there maybe expanding fields at the DMs' call.

anyway I slice it, it will be a waiting game.

What do you mean multi casting tge same 0 lvl spells? If you mean like how pathfinder ans 5e turn tgem, into all day cantrips 3.5 doesnt do that you get to cast X number of spells,od each lvl a day ( kinda why we are in such a pinch right now lol)

Thumbs up Re: The test of your powers an endless guantlet

okay! I am just so use to house ruling, 2e, pathfinder hi-jinks that I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to do something earth shattering.

    example:
    1) barbarian wants water and food, under a peanut tree (didn't grow like a root as normal), create water...peanut shell deemed a type of wood to stop arguments, warp wood, barbarian rage, ask if I can cast a type of grease - vegtable oil, roll for it = yes, later group has fresh peanut butter jelly sandwiches.

    2) haunted wooden house, water, warp, time warp.

It would be perhaps nice if we focused on a few enemies rather than split ourselves up.

It is 3 v 2 over on the left for example but could be 4v2, or we could have several on the leader.

I will try to make it 2 vs. 2 by luring in the big bad.

Never mind, my computer finally decided it was time that I see a big change to where the boss battle is going to be held, be over there maybe?
How does the fog cover vision of friendlies?

    The fog effects everyone equally.

Robina dropped it because she didn't want the entire team to be flat footed and hit with missile weapons and give us the chance to split them up and defeat them in detail

Right now the big boss is at L6 having stepped into the mist to attack Ander (K7), he also happens to be right next to Gex K5

Robina has moved to J6 and hit him with a Colour Spray that will should miss all friendlies and stun him a bit - we hope

There is a melee going on G3 to E4 between the two prisoner guards and two hobbos that I think Frederick is joining in, but the guards don't have any armour so this could turn ugly for them quite fast

Two hobs at the South M and N11 are out of the fight, I think one got hit by Anders and one fell off the mountain.

Then there are the two at L2 (who I think tried to get down in the mist and fell but is still OK and O2 who is attacking the mule)

A misty vapor arises around you. It is stationary once created. The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).

Understood, will do what I can from where the map currently locates me at M4.
You can still move through friendly spots even in combat correct? Alright, wind me around for a big stabby-stabby time.

What do you want him to be:

    So far we know:

    Ex Squire

    Sewer Affiliation

    Socially awkward

    Quite Tough

    Worships Boccob

He won't be a social powerhouse, but there ways you can take that

Also for some reason 3/5 of the party, except Ander and Robina, took movement boosts - and she has expeditious retreat

So as a team we are very focused on mobility, even if that leads to light armour and means a lack of durability in melee

If Swashbuckler was allowed that might be interesting, the Wannabe Dashing Swordsman who is not as smooth as he thinks he is but otherwise you'd have to meet that archytpe via feats (Weapon Finesse and consider Duellist)

Or you go the squire route and try to become a mounted warrior

swashbuckler of smoothless-ness, hmm...I will have to look and feat grind for that.
mounted usually need a charm of 12 for the +1 to handle animals

I will harass, side step, and keep trying to back stab the big bad, so you guys can use that has my postings to keep combat up. If at anytime I notice the big bad down, I will slowly stay at the perimeter of the fog, using bow to get rid of the bad guys trying to come in.

    Ex
    Round 3
Orth moves to blah and does blahh
    Round 4
    Orth does something else

Also CN Fish will be gone all day and asked if its ok if i finish up the combat for him
Would yall be ok with that? If not we can wait no problem

And Robina will start round 3 as posted, if it gets round to round 4 she will attempt CDG on HC

I'm dumb, because that class is in Complete Warrior and that is allowed, so there's nothing to stop Jon becoming one. He has good DEX, so free Weapon Finesse will be handy

I was told r3 action. So I will stick to my guns and harass the big bad for a back stab, even if it means grappling to know where he is.

So far the free weapon finesse is tempting and d10 hp. harsh that it has to be wasted on daggers or short bows.
